Cooks Rice well, but can leave a mess behind

Cooks well.

Light lid, overflows, burnt rice at the bottom

Good

Really happy with it. Even after the cat knocked it off the bench, it still works fine! Although the lid is made of soft metal so it dented easily. Don't leave smaller batches of rice to warm for too long or it will burn a little bit. "10-cup rice...

Simple and easy to use. Great for curry parties, lots of rice & keeps it warm.

Minimum 4 cups at a time. A little bit wasteful if only cooking for 2.

OK

We generally cook for 4 people, with Basmati Rice and have found that you have to use plenty of water (2 to 3cm over the level of the rice). Turn the cooker on and wait for it to boil (the lid starts to vibrate). Open the lid and stir the rice (this...

Bad

the rice is often burnt on the bottom. I haven't found the problem with the lid overflowing, but we usually only cook small amounts of rice. That is another con, you have to cook 4 cups minimum which means that for the two of us, we are often left with...

easier to cook rice than on stove or in microwave

need to play to get the right ratio of water to rice, if not rice then rice is either soggy or burnt on bottom. Minimum 4 cups, which is a lot if there are only two of you

Bad

Not worth the mess. Although it cooks the rice well and I didn't have any problem with burnt rice on the bottom.

Cooks the rice well

As per the previous reviewer the lid doesn't seal well and the overflow ends up everywhere including the floor. I had to place a tea towel under it.
