Bought this as a house warming gift for friends of ours. They had a few dozen oysters for appetizers and we put the King Kooker to the test immediately. It worked great and everyone there was impressed at the ease it made of opening the oysters.

Cooked instant rice and normal rice perfectly. Thought I'd have to worry about greasing the pan, or any different cook times for different rice but nope, I can just set it and walk away and it does all the work/worry for me. Can't wait to try potatoes.

Although it cooks the rice well, I have found that the rice burns on the bottom and forms a crust. It may just be that mine is faulty. I have had it for about 12 months and have rarely used it for this reason. i don't think I would buy another one.
