The Altec Lansing VS2621 is an entry-level 2.1 PC speaker that offers a compact stylish design and good sound at an affordable price.
The Altec Lansing VS2621 is a good entry-level speaker that offered a well balanced sound for its asking price. It is pretty good value for money, and we would recommend it over the Creative T3300 and the Logitech Z313 for its warm and crisp sound...

After deciding to use my laptop has a pretty much permanent home media set up, I decided that I would move my desktop speakers to provide better sound quality than the standard built in speakers when watching movies and TV shows. This left me short on...

This is a rather nice 2.1speaker system. 2.1 means two satellite speakers and a sub woofer. The speakers could be used with a PC or perhaps more likely as an output from a device such as an iPod or MP3 with a 3.5mm socket.
The satellites are 13.5x12x10cm maximum at the base and the latter is only 3.5cm at the top. The sub woofer is 12x22x26cm but as it is side firing is the 26cm actually the face? The sub woofer is made of wood coloured matt black, it has a silver grey...

A compact set that could do with some more output power.

Affordable, nicely designed and soft sounding 2.1 speakers.
Easy to set up ; Warm sound ; Affordable price
Weak bass ; Subtle mids and highs
Stylish and great ergonomic design with average sound.

Tired of the tinny sounding speakers built into your laptop, or the cheap speaker set that came packaged with your new PC? A high quality 2.1 speaker set that utilizes full-range drivers as well as a powered subwoofer could quite well be the answer...
Good sound quality, low price tag for a 2.1 speaker set, aux input for use with an MP3 player
Short cable between the side speakers, aux input must be unplugged to use the main input, no bass control in the subwoofer module
A few nitpicks keep the VS2621 from receiving higher marks. I would have loved to see a subwoofer bass control built into the bass module, I don’t like the fact that the aux input and the main 3.5mm input can’t be used in parallel and the cable...

Logitech revamps its Z-2200 speakers in an attempt to offer best-in-class 2.1 sound. But is Logitech Z-2300's new features enough to separate it ...
A new model, a new look: not so in the case of Logitech's 2300, which doesn't break much from the design of its 2200 speakers. The 2300's subwoofer, for example, looks just like its predecessor, except for the front panel. The 2300 is also THX...

Logitech revamps its Z-2200 speakers in an attempt to offer best-in-class 2.1 sound. But is Logitech Z-2300's new features enough to separate it from the rest of the pack in this very competitive market? At least we can say that the speakers have...

Over the past year or so, we have covered almost the entire range of Altec Lansing speakers and were pretty impressed with most of them. Just when we thought that we had reviewed everything they popped up with newer models, the MX-5021 and the FX-6021....
