Going back to DeLonghi... of Salton EX1040 Espresso Pro Cappuccino Maker

Then my precious DeLonghi machine broke and I've bought Breville "Cafe Roma"--also a $300 range espresso maker (MSRP wise) like the Salton "EX1040" (what a name.. sounds like a video card nomenclature) The taste was alot alot worse than DeLonghi--I...

+Makes excellent steam +Looks good +Everything fits good together

Worst Espresso maker I've had in my life and I've had four total. My journey began with a $5 Cuisinart espresso maker which I bought on a yard sale which wasn't pump based but made strong and quick espresso. Then I've bought DeLonghi basic pump based...

Satisified with reservations

Appears solidly built. Easy to use. Makes an excellent espresso. Overall, it's a nice quality unit, QC issues notwithstanding (see cons), and at the hugely discounted price that I paid, this unit may well be the best bargain I've purchased from Newegg...

A broken silicone seal near where the water tank fits into the machine was broken, causing water to puddle onto the counter. I removed the bottom (4 small screws), saw the problem and ran a bead of silicone alone the offending area. Haven't tested it...

great deal

Got the special price so i gave it a shot. I only drink espresso and I've had real espressos from real italian bars (coffee bars). I tried every type of bean and grind. Its a bargain. So I give it 5 eggs for the 110 price and 4 eggs for 199.

Makes great coffee with crema. comes with the 1 and 2 cup filter, has a decent sized water tank with easy pull up and out to refill.

only with the special price I will give it 5 eggs. The water tank didnt seat right stopping water from flowing to the machine. I had to shave off the bottom sides of the water tank to level it out. This fixed the issue. runs great now.

This is a follow-up review, Newegg did an RMA and sent me a new machine quickly and without hassle. The ready light works on the new machine, and I can say that it heats up very quickly.

Good for the price, but...

Get a good burr grinder to go with this.

Seems to pull a nice shot of espresso. Relatively quiet for an espresso machine. You can select steam or hot water from the wand, so making Americanos is easy - from what I understand, the hot water feature is typically only on more expensive boiler...

The ready light does not work out of the box. I have contacted Salton to see if they will replace it, but for now, I just give it 5 minutes to heat up. Also, no rack for warming cups, although the top front does get warm, so you could probably fit a...
