Handpresso quick review

It might be convenient, but this hand-held gadget will disappoint the true coffee connoisseur.

A promising concept fails in practice.

CoffeeGeek - Handpresso Manual Espresso Machine - Taylor Pyscher's Review

I recommend the Lavazza Gran Crema ESE pods and 150 pod boxes are fairly inexpensive. If an espresso costs roughly 1.50+ at the local cafe then buying a box of 150 pods has paid for the device itself. Afterwards, you're paying roughly 30 cents a shot...

Easy to use and easy to clean. Great for travel or for the office to make a pick-me-up after lunch espresso

Not good for making multiple shots exceeding 4+. A gasket gets wet in the pump mechanism and then you are unable to pump. However, once it dries it works fine

Consumer review (coffeegeek.com)

This device is worth the cost, is easy and fun to use, and should last for years if maintained correctly.

Like other espresso makers, clean... clean... clean your device. The Dome Pod, since it uses your own ground coffee for espresso, needs to be cleaned and maintained like any other brewing device. Keep stray grounds off of the basket especially around...

Solid construction, easy to clean, and very well thought out design. Particulars include a molded TPE "grip" surface of the portafiltro basket, built-in pressure gauge, and replacement filter basket and o-ring

Not much negative here. One minor point: the pump handle is missing texture and is a smooth plastic
