An espresso machine for those who want to become baristas at home
Manual control over brew ; Can pour two espressos at once ; Built-in steam wand
Some dripping after espresso is poured ; Expensive ; Doesn’t come with a milk jug

The Gaggia Classic coffee machine can make espressos and cappuccinos from either ground coffee or ESE pods, and will certainly bring a touch of sleek sophistication to your kitchen. We put this coffee maker to the test to find out if, as well as...

In the Fall of 2019 the Gaggia Classic Pro was replaced by the newer (and slightly improved) Gaggia Classic Pro, also sometimes referred to as the...
The makes decent espresso, but that's about all the good things we can say. Other than that it is messy, difficult to use, and doesn't steam milk very well, nor does it have a built-in grinder. It is far from the best choice in this price range.

Reviewers say that the Gaggia Classic produces a nearly perfect espresso for a fraction of the cost of high-end machines. Several users who have owned their machines for years say the Gaggia is very durable and holds up well to consistent daily use....
Simple controls, compact, durable, uses ground coffee or ESE pods
Hard to judge water level, cheap plastic tamper, cheap frothing wand, aluminum boiler susceptible to corrosion

Although the Gaggia Classic espresso machine sounds like a lot of trouble, espresso purists love it. It gives you splendid-tasting espresso, beautifully steamed and foamed milk, and the added benefit of a hot water stream if you want other hot drinks....
This sturdy machine comes with a high-quality tamping tool and has the biggest water reservoir of all the espresso makers we reviewed.
There is a definite learning curve with this espresso maker.
The Gaggia Classic espresso maker yields first-rate coffee and gives you excellent frothed milk, but it takes more effort with this manual machine than it does with the more automated espresso machines.

I have had this Gaggia Classic for just over three years. It makes wonderful coffee. The paradox is crema improves further as the machine scales up. Descaling is recommended every one or two months. When I bought the machine the cost of descaler was...

I am surprised at this machine being a best buy". Within a few months Phillips had to replace the part where the coffee filters through. Recently, and the machine is only 8 months old), it has become dangerous to use, having tendency to spew out...

I have had 2 of these machines and each one only lasted 2.5 years before packing up. We live in a med to hard water area. I only use filtered water and de-scale regularly. I now am looking for a new machine again. We only make about 4 cups of coffee a...
