Making decent espresso-style drinks at home doesn't have to be exorbitantly expensive. For a modest $100 (£110 in the UK) the DeLongi EC155 Pump Espresso can whip up satisfying espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos, and without eating up too much...

The DeLonghi EC155 Pump Espresso is compact, affordable and makes very tasty espresso-based drinks paired with steamed milk.

Unfortunately the DeLonghi EC155 lacks the power and temperature control to pull consistently delicious espresso shots. The machine also has trouble extracting flavor from medium and lightly roasted beans.

If all you seek in a home espresso machine is the odd cappuccino or latte, then the budget-minded DeLonghi EC155 Pump Espresso is tempting. However aficionados won't be impressed by its erratic coffee quality.

Do not let the small size of this espresso maker deceive you, because the results are excellent. This machine is a decent size for any countertop: It's not too tall to fit under cupboards and, best of all, the DeLonghi espresso maker produces a tasty...

It makes exceptionally good steamed milk and foam.

This does not come with a built-in grinder for coffee beans.
