CoffeeGeek - Capresso Ultima Espresso Machine - Anthony Raimondo's Review

After several trips to Italy we wanted to enjoy Cappuccinos at home and this is our first espresso machine. The issue with the unit now is with no change in amount of coffee used results vary from a great tasting cup to a watery, no crema throw away. I...

Easy to use & clean. Great phone support and warranty back up. Capresso covers cost to ship both ways. Foamer works well

Body of the unit replaced twice because plunger base broke. Very uneven brewing. I figured out what is causing the problem. The lower portion of the coffee hopper jams in place and does not allow a full measure of coffee to be loaded. I've notified...

The best entry level machine you can get. There simply are no other semi-automatic machines like this.

This machine has served me extremely well since 2002. I have used everyday since then with very little issue. The other reviewer who had issues with the steam wand obviously got a broken machine. The steam wand works wonderfully. If anything the...

I have had this machine since 2002. I bought new in box from Ebay. Great semi-automatic machine for making espresso, cappuccino, latte. Easy to use. Great system for leading coffee, automatically tamping, and creating great shots. Some minor and one...

Can be a little difficult to clean certain parts, ie the drip tray has many acute angle corners that are very difficult to clean. Carousel top also can be a bugger

Very simple to use. Love the design.

Moved from a Nespresso D150 because I wanted to experiment with my own grinds. This machine is very simple, goof-proof and makes good-enough espresso with nice crema. It is self-tamping and tolerant of different grinds. THEN things began to go wrong...

looks. It's why I bought it. It has a great Darth Vader look to it. Ultra easy to use, heats up fast. Not too fussy about grind

Spent grounds storage is not a good idea as it promotes mold growth if you don't clean it out regularly. There is a warning light telling you when to empty, but by then there's icky fuzzy MOLD

Dependable, reliable, home espresso machine ... I like it!

This is my first "real" espresso machine, having graduated from countertop miniature machines like Salton. I did some research, then found the machine on eBay for much less than the retail purchase price in stores.

Compact, small countertop "footprint"; easy to use; heats quickly; makes good espresso, good latte & good cappuccino. Large water reservoir is readily removeable for cleaning, and easily accessible to fill in place

Instructions aren't the easiest to understand, but once understood, it's a great little machine ; used grounds storage turns to moldy mess rather quickly ; has required maintenance once in three years ; I wish the reservoir had a "maximum fill" line...

Excellent home pump machine! Makes espresso quick & mess-free!

This pump machine is great! I've already made a few espresso and americanos--I'm impressed!

For me, the fact that it tamps and dumps spent grounds with the simple, clean swivel of a lever is really handy when company comes over and 10 people demand a coffee at once. I'm a coffee purist and don't even own a drip coffee machine! It used to take...

You cannot use pods, but since they're so expensive, who really cares? I do also wish this one came with the automatic milk frother that comes with their lower-end Pro model ; The one additional feature I could use most is the preprogrammed single and...

For the right price, it's worthy as long as you don't want froth.

The reason I am happy with this machine is because I bought it like new for $100 (1/4 of the $400 ticket price). The best thing is that it is totally self contained and you never have to deal with messy grounds--it has its own internal bin where the...

The Ultima is incredibly convenient, easy to use and clean, and it makes a good espresso shot with a tad of crema

The frother is difficult to use and doesn't heat up properly. I end up heating my milk in a microwave and never using the froth wand
