JVC GZ-MG465

If, for some reason, you don't want to go the whole HD route, then the JVC GZ-MG465 is one of the best SD camcorders around.

Images are excellent for standard-definition footage

Pricey for a non-High-Definition 'corder

JVC GZ-MG465

Standard definition hard drive camcorder with 60GB of storage and SD slot, fronted by a 32x optical zoom and with a 2.7-inch widescreen monitor to frame with. There's a megapixel sensor inside. It measures 54x68 x113mm and weights 360g. The good First...

If you’ve got a prejudice against HD camcorders this SD model is about as good as you’ll find. Video and sound quality are perfectly acceptable. In fact, it’s the Kylie Minogue of camcorders: small, sexy and slightly out of date. JVC GZ-MG465 is tagged...

JVC GZ-MG465B

Highly arresting design, 60GB hard drive, MicroSD slot for additional recording, good video performance

Laser touch' operation needs significant refining, auto focus less zippy than we're used to

If you're on the lookout for a standard definition HDD camcorder, the GZ-MG465B is one of the more interesting options on the market. Provided you can get your head (and finger) around the unusual control interface, it won't disappoint.

Everio GZ series (flash) review

JVC's Everio GZ-MS100 is a compact, budget SD-card-based camcorder capitalizing on the trend of one-touch upload of video to the Internet; the big YouTube sticker on back of the camcorder's LCD and the YouTube branding on the box are kind of a...

Average standard-definition video quality for its class; manual controls; small, comfortable design.

Tricky menu navigation; polarizing interface; meager user guide; and questionable YouTube-friendliness.

The JVC Everio GZ-MS100 is an average budget SD-card-based camcorder that's more attractive for its small design and relatively average video quality than its unique interface and one-touch uploads to YouTube.

JVC Everio GZ-HM301

Small and easy to carry. Decent sound quality, and good image quality for price. Good for home movies and basic recordings. Easy to use, a good camcorder for beginners and vloggers. Good optical zoom and focus.

Battery life could be better. Bad sound in loud environments. Video output format doesn't play in some movie players, i.e Quicktime - conversion is needed.

As this was a gift I didnt use the camcorder to its fullest potential, but when I did use it I particularly liked the weight of it. It wasnt heavy and so fitted in my bag nicely. The quality of the picture is exceptional and it has a magnificant zoom...

I think the only thing that I can negatively say about the camcorder is it may be a little on the small side for someone who has large hands.
