Sony CCD-TRV58 Hi8 Camcorder, JVC stomper

I recently bought one at a yard sale for $5. Yes I said $5. I thought it was an older unit with no flip out LCD but when I got it home I almost had a Heart attack when I took the time to really check it out.I charged the battery and put a new tape in...

I love this camcorder

I think it is a quality camera for a reasonable price. It is very easy to use and fairly light and compact. Even my 12 year old daughter can use it. I love how it can hook up to the TV to view the video, or you can view right on the large screen. I...

a decent buy on a budget.

I bought this camera in October and it is a decent, well-working camcorder, but it is missing some feature which would enhance even the novices' experience. For one thing, if you're using the camcorder as a handheld, all natural little bumps and jars...

piece of Junk

Just after the year warranty was up, mine would only record at a slow-motion pace. Sort of like the opposite of Benny Hill. It will cost more to fix than to replace. I am very dissatisfied with Sony customer service. This unit had no more than maybe 8...

compact size, lower price

spend the extra 40 dollars

This has been a great camcorder for our family. It is easy to turn on and film in a hurry when you don't want to miss those one time events. I wish I had spent the extra money for the steady shot feature which was about 40 dollars more. The battery...

$350 Even

This camera is like a 1996 Honda Civic, it gets the job done reliably. No flashy features, a no nonsense transportation, or in this case, a simple way to record Video. The titling features of this camera are the same as in the Ultra-High Priced...

Sony CCD-TRV58 Hi8 Camcorder With 2.5" LCD ? But Where Is Image Stabilizer?

Remember the not-so-long-ago times when $300-350 would buy you only low-band 8mm/VHS-C camcorder with no LCD? As digital camcorders fell in price, so did the hi-band models, as demonstrated by Sony's Hi8 model line.
