Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 camcorder

Sanyo has been steadily building a reputation for excellent quality video cameras recently and the new Xacti FH1 looks like continuing that trend. The headline feature of the Sanyo is Full HD recording. You can capture 1920 x 1080p at 60 frames per...

Very impressive video quality, good stills performance, easy to use

No external mic support

The only real niggles we had with the FH1 were the placement of the controls on the rear of the camera and the inability to use a separate microphone. Otherwise this is a great little camera that for the price provides really excellent video quality in...

Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 review

Sanyo has become all but synonymous with the concept of hybrid digital video/stills cameras and this model offers both high-end video capture and 12Mp of photo detail. However, we weren't fully convinced by its implementation of full HD video.

To be fair, the Xacti FH1 is hardly an expensive piece of kit: we think its £475 asking price is fair given the overall still and video quality and the advanced capabilities of the camera. It’s simply that when a product promises Full HD at 1920x1080...

In conclusion I really love this camera and would have no problem buying it myself or recommending it to anyone else. Apart from the unincluded HDMI cable I cannot find any real faults as it did exactly what it said on the box , a small, easy to use...

Xacti VPC-FH1 review

With the Xacti VPC-FH1 Sanyo have a hybrid HD video and 12 megapixel stills camera that does a good job with both.

Full HD video, 12-megapixel resolution for stills, solid build, good quality video with vivid colours

Stills images not as good as a standard compact camera, video playback on a large screen was jerky

The Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 offers some advanced capabilities in exchange for its reasonable purchase price. It produced decent results and provided us with some memorable video footage.

Sanyo VPC-FH1

The Xacti FH1 is a bit expensive for the end results, but as a mini camcorder it is a decent option.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1

The Xacti range has been slowly and steadily growing a great reputation for Sanyo in the video market. Its latest camera, the Xacti VPC-FH1, offers both video and still photography with full HD recording at 60 frames per second (fps) and a 12-megapixel...

The slow motion and video editing capabilities might be a bit of a gimmick, but the video quality of the Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 certainly isn't. If you're after a high-quality compact camcorder, this one's definitely worth considering

Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 HD camcorder

The Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 camcorder provides very good performance for its quite reasonable price.

Good image quality for asking price, above average low-light performance, impressive battery life

MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec incompatible with some editing applications, unintuitive menu

Sanyo has made a name for itself producing high quality, low cost camcorders and the Xacti VPC-FH1 is no exception. While it cannot hope to match high-end models from Canon or Sony, it remains a solid performer nonetheless.
