Pansonic HDC 700 review

One of the least expensive and most compact camcorders available with a full manual feature set and electronic viewfinder, plus a 1080/60p recording mode, the Panasonic HDC-TM700 presents an attractive option for users dissatisfied by the quality and...

Very good low-light video quality; full set of manual features; 1080/60p recording option.

Smallish, low-resolution LCD; coarse EVF; some edge artifacts in video; middling still photo quality.

Absolutely amazing

4 stars for the aperture thing. FGor general shooting this thing can't be beat. Still shots are not up to DSLR standard, but still very good. For video this thing puts out stuff that looks like it cost 2-3 times as much. I am not sure where cnet is...

Wonderful image quality and the 50P (Australia) is just swimmingly smooth. The Image Stabilisation has to be seen to be believed.I have used the camera, hand held, to track dogs at play and this camera makes it a dream.

in manual mode, changing the shutter speed alters the "aperture" which adds noise. You then have to go back to aperture and it will at least leave the shutter alone.

Panasonic Pansonic HDC 700

In answer to Tropi, it comes with HD-Writer software to transfer stuff to PC via USB cable (supplied), but no editor. Adobe Premiere Elements (about 80 quid) is recommended and can handle all formats; Cyberlink Power Director (cheaper) can handle most,...

Just about everything, especially the image stabiliser

Availability of filters etc (only a 46mm thread)
