Kodak Playtouch review

Can the touchscreen-toting, Full-HD shooting, face-recognising Kodak PlayTouch back up its fancy features with an all-round winning performance?

Despite the dodgy audio quality, the PlayTouch boasts some cool features and smooth Full HD video recording

Kodak Playtouch

It was not until I started checking out this next product that I realised that my computer system box had a face.

This feature is very sensitive with the result that mistakes can happen until you get use to it. There were occasions when even the lightest of touches sent me to a screen I did not want and I would find myself looking at sepia or black & white view of...

Kodak Playtouch Video Camera

The Kodak Playtouch Video Camera packs a touch screen along with plenty of settings, effects, and extras, but video image quality isn't top-notch.

Slick design with responsive touch screen. Variety of HD video resolution and frame-rate options. 5-megapixel still image capture. In-camera video effects. Macro focus. Microphone input. Headphone jack. HDMI cable included.

Video quality isn't as impressive as the competition. Only a 2-inch portion of the 3-inch display is viewable while recording video.

Kodak PlayFull Waterproof Ze2Camcorder Review

The Kodak PlayFull Waterproof Ze2 is a cheap, bare-bones camcorder that lets you shoot 720p HD video underwater. There's nothing flattering about the Ze2 in terms of performance or features, but its ridiculously compact design and sub-$100 price tag...

Kodak PlayTouch Review

The Kodak PlayTouch pocket HD camcorder is a slim touch-based successor to the well-received Zi8.

Extrernal mic input ; HDMI cable included ; Effective touch controls

Display size limited when shooting ; Mediocre video quality ; Low build quality in parts

Overall however, I have to say the PlayTouch is a misfire for Kodak, but one that could easily be fixed with a tweak to the display function and a return to PlaySport video quality.
