JVC Everio GZ-MG330

It may be available in a variety of colours, but JVC's Everio GZ-MG330 isn't just a fashion accessory.

JVC GZ-MG330 review

We reckon the new Everio line-up could be the best selection yet

Lightweight and compact ; Attractively styled ; Easy to use

Basic feature set ; 30GB HDD

The best we’ve seen from standard-definition Everios. It’s taken a while but this cam really proves HDD’s dominance in the family cam/budget market. There are other models further up the range, but if you want something cheap that does the business,...

JVC GZ-MG330

JVC GZ-MG330 is a camcorder with a super slim design. It has a hard drive for its recording (30 GB) and a MicroSD recording capability. The camcorder can take still image recordings at 640 x 480 pixels and has widescreen 16:9 ratio, plus 35x optical...

JVC started putting hard drives into camcorders around the time Apple put them into iPods: you simply won’t find a more confident or well made shooter at this price. JVC GZ-MG330 is tagged with camcorder and JVC. Select a tag (camcorder, for example)...

JVC GZ-MG330

Able to cram in loads of recording time

Since this camcorder records video at the regular TV resolution of 720 x 576, and uses MPEG-2 compression at up to 8.5Mbits/sec, you can fit a whopping 7 hours of footage on the hard disk. Drop to the lowest setting, and there’s room for 37 hours,...

SimplyDV Review: JVC Everio GZ-MG330 Camcorder

As the first company to pioneer the use of hard disc drives in low-cost camcorders, JVC continues to expand its line of Everio G models. Is the multiple-flavoured MG330 an ideal choice for the family movie maker?

As you know, I have been asked to look at this in the light of the end-user - or at least that group of users which we think is the target for this camcorder, and in the light of that I think the JVC Everio GZ-MG330 is a great little camcorder. It...

JVC Everio GZ-MG300 review

With long recording times and convenient operation, hard-disk-based camcorders are quite tempting, especially when coupled with the relatively low prices for standard-definition models. That's true of the lowest-end camcorders in JVC's veteran Everio G...

Attractive price; compact design; holds hours of video.

No eye-level viewfinder, mic input, or headphone jack; persistent video compression artifacts.

The near-identical models of the JVC Everio GZ-MG300 series--the MG330, MG335, MG360 and MG365--are budget-priced, hard-drive-based camcorders that are nice enough, but produce typical low-budget video.

JVC Everio GZ-MG330

If you're not interested in being able to record HD footage, you'll find this standard definition camcorder a good bet.

Good quality footage ; 35x optical zoom ; Easy to use

Standard-definition recording only ; Low-res stills

Conclusion JVC has really hit a sweet spot with the petite and handsome Everio GZ-MG330. It shoots great quality standard-definition footage, has a long optical zoom range and is very easy to use.

JVC GZ-MG330 Camcorder Review

The JVC Everio GZ-MG330 ($449 MSRP) is a standard definition hard drive camcorder for those seeking a higher capacity than the card-only alternatives. With many of the same internal components as the JVC GZ-MS100, the MG330 follows up with the same...

Review: JVC Everio GZ-MG330

Pros: Small size. Sturdy. Zoom. Records to 30 GB hard drive. Affordable. Cons: Light balance in low light a bit yellow in automatic. Not HD. The JVC Everio GZ-MG330 is all about simple and easy. It's not much bigger than my fist and packs in a 30...

The star of the show is JVC's new Laser Touch system: a collection of touch-sensitive buttons that replace the traditional joystick as a means for navigating the menus. It takes time to get used to the system, but once you do it's fun and satisfying to...
