Hitachi's upper level DVD camcorder this year is frankly the best of the DVD market this year. The DZ-MV580 has the biggest CCD of the group in size (inches), while Sony's DCR-DVD201 has more effective pixels. The DZ-MV580 has the best performance in...

Hitachi DZ-MV580 Camcorder Review

Boasting an MSRP of $749.95, the Hitachi DZ-MV580 is the industry's second least expensive DVD camcorder, falling short only of its less advanced sibling, Hitachi's DZ-MV550. With added features and the largest imager of any DVD camcorder so far, the...

Hitachi DZ-MV580E

There is not a huge difference between this and the MV550E. In fact, if you put them side by side you have to look closely to see the difference in looks, which is model number in small print on one side.

Both cameras ship with a single sided DVD-RAM disc but susprisingly no memory card

Great DVD Camcorder, BUT!!!

Getting ready for an eight day cruise to the Mexican Riviera to celebrate my wife's birthday, we decided our old camcorder had seen better days. Technology had passed us by. Way by! I was taking our Sony digital camera and my Nikon F3 for serious ...

Wow!

All you can say about this one is, WOW! It simply blows the doors off any of the DVD media type recorders offered by Sony right now. The still photos are not as high a resolution as a current model digital still camera offers, but more than good ...

The DVD media, and this camera in particular, ROCKS in my opinion.
