Unique hybrid technology, good video quality

Poor still images, few manual options, slightly large

Good video quality and the convenience of having both hard disk and DVD in one camcorder are let down by a small hard-disk, slow menus and other compromises.

Hitachi DZ-HS303

The camcorder itself is excellent. I learnt to use it in a matter of minutes and got some good quality recordings on my second try.

No tapes, or DVDs just point and shoot

I am having trouble using my Mac with it. So far (1 week) I am still unable to get iDVD or iMovie to use video footage and finder doesn't recognize the hard drive. Still overall a good buy
