Great performance for the price, DiG!C II colour quality

The MV800i records stills to tape only

The Canon MV800i series of MiniDV cameras offer fantastic features and quality for the price. If you also want to take the occasional still image photo and take video using a remote control, the MV830i is the best value of the three.

Expert Review

Canon introduced the 2005 ZR series with the ZR100, a camcorder trying to come out of the shadow cast by the bleak performance of its ancestor, the ZR80. Unfortunately, it has inherited many of last year's features, the most significant of which is the...

Canon ZR100 First Impressions Review - Canon MiniDV Camcorders

Canon announced this week at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, the 2005 ZR model line up, the entry-level model being the Canon ZR100. Subtle would be the adjective of choice for describing the changes apparent in the new ZR line up. Visually,...

Canon ZR100 MiniDV Camcorder w/20x Optical Zoom.

Canon's most affordable, yet exceptionally powerful, digital camcorder brings together a variety of advanced features in one stylish package. Inside the streamlined body of the ZR100 is Canon's DIGIC DV system, which delivers outstanding image quality...

Phenomenal Camcorder

I am astounded at how cheap this thing is, because it functions like a much more expensive camcorder. The analog input (record from old VHS family videos!) is VERY useful, I don't know if you can find that on any other cameras in this price range. LOVE...

Incredible quality, the DigicDV chip recreates colors very richly. Controls are solid, feels expensive. Actually made in Japan, unlike some cheaper Chinese cameras. This may be the BEST budget camera out there

Battery meter is nearly useless, jumps up and down, but the battery has lasted at least the length of every tape that I have recorded, so I don't worry about it too much

Bad

For a product made in Japan I expected better. My very old analog Panasonic still works perfectly and am considering getting a new battery for it and re-using it or buying a 2nd hand Panasonic or Sony camcorder. I would not recommend buying a Canon...

Like everyone else I found this camera a delight to use and had many happy hours of videoing. Good quality videos etc.

like all previous comments, same problems with the loading of the tape and video lines etc after a short period of time. Not worth repairing and canon were not interested.

Canon ZR 100 review

Alas, it delivers the same noisy, jittery low-light performance as its pricier siblings, the ZR200 and the ZR300. Physically identical to other models in Canon's ZR line, the ZR100 weighs slightly more than a pound and fits comfortably in the hand. To...

Canon ZR100 camcorder

Poorly lit areas. Good thing Canon ZR100 has night mode instead of infrared lights like other camcorders. Though it might let your photos look rough but atleast it is colored eventhough it was taken in dark conditions. Canon ZR10 has 2.4 inch lCD and...
