Canon Legria HF S10

The LEGRIA HF S10 is an HD camcorder that fuses professional-level imaging with the advantages of Dual Flash Memory. Advanced controls allow you to capture incredibly sharp and detailed HD images. It has an 8MP lens, 32GB Dual Flash memory, and a 10x...

Canon has rolled out the big guns again. This Rolls Royce of a camcorder makes shooting stunning HD movies a breeze but its touch-less, viewfinder-less interface could limit its audience. Canon Legria HF S10 is tagged with Canon Legria HF S10, Canon...

Canon Legria HFS10

The awkwardly named Legria HFS10 is the star of Canon's range of high-def flash memory camcorders. It features a larger 8.6-megapixel CMOS sensor, 10x zoom, 32GB of storage, optical image stabilisation and a plethora of inputs and outputs.

Great Quality Video and Still photos

Obtaining fair priced batteries. Size of controls are a bit difficult and practice using them is essential, although the remove control is a great help.

Very, very good HD image quality in good light. Very good level of manual control eg. focus override, +/- exposure, aperture priority, shutter speed priority, gain, mic. level, 1.7 digital teleconvertor (no quality loss due to sensor size) face...

Like many camcorders grainy & slightly softer image quality in poor light but can be partly averted by lowering exposure &/or switching to 25p frame mode. Moderate size will fit in generous jacket pocket but not trousers. Wind noise if not using...

Canon Legria HF-S10

Fits nicely even in my small hands and it provides excellent video quality. Quite light compared to my last HD camcorder, superb.

Battery life is quite poor with the supplied battery and the spares are very expensive. I wouldn't consider a compatible battery as they don't give you an accurate measurement of remaining power. So, looks like I'll have to grin and bear the cost.

It's so easy to use. Excellent quality picture and sound. Using auto just concentrated on the subject and got some excellent results straight out of the box.

I'm going to have to buy a couple of better batteries. Seems mean to supply a small battery as standard. Same goes for the mini HDMI connector. Not supplied with the camera.

Superb HD Picture Quality. Super Range Optical Image Stabilization (Optical is better than Digital). The fastest focusing in the west (could easily rival the quickest gun-slinger). Good quality 8 Mega Pixel stills. Very large CMOS Sensor. Great...

Price is high, but you get what you pay for. Would like to finally seen full 1080p (progressive) at 50/60p or gps (50 or 60 frames per second at full progressive quality).. surely the time has come for this now! Stereo recording only, not 5.1 but this...
