Sony's BDP-S3200 Blu-ray player competent but stale

The Sony BDP-S3200 will play your Blu-rays just fine but it's not quite as up-to-date as competitors especially when it comes to streaming media.

The Sony BDP-S3200 offers a high number of streaming services and will play most forms of physical disk; DLNA streaming, Miracast and onboard "super" Wi-Fi add to the unit's flexibility; the cost of entry is fairly low.

The XMB interface is looking tired in the face of streamlined offerings from competitors; accessing your content and navigating long lists of streaming services is very slow; there are some slight image quality hiccups in Blu-ray playback; the player...

The Sony BDP-S3200 will play your Blu-rays just fine but it doesn't do enough to embrace streaming media like its competitors.

Horrible Streaming product, Processor too slow

Only device in the house that has horrible streaming lag, and locks up constantly. Blue Ray works fine, but definitely false advertising when they say it's a great streaming product. Definitely seems like it has a horrible processor speed for streaming.

Blu Ray works fine

Streaming constantly locks up, bad lag with great internet service

Not a great streamer

I have no problem with the XMB-based interface, and the CNET review goes on about how this old interface is the players worst feature. How often are you in the interface when you're using a blu-ray play/media streamer? The playback functionality is...

Plays discs, minimal stutter and rebuffering playing back over wireless

No ffwd, rew, or pause while playing m4v over dlna

"Terrible Application Playback"

While Sony's BX510 version froze anytime it wished whether playing DVDs or some of its homegrown apps such as Crackle or SnagXtreme or Popcorn Films, this newer model BX520 twin of the BDP-S3200 suffers from the same exact issue except for the DVD...

Plays DVDs Well Enough, Crackle Moviea, Better Remote Design, Price

Sony's Own Apps Such As "SnagXtreme" Stutter and Flicker and Eventually Freeze

Awesome product

This is my first Blu Ray player. I am very satisfied with the preloaded apps and the clarity of the picture.

Super BD player

This Sony BD Player works as advertised. The built-in WI-FI receives very well and I rarely get any stutters - even with another HDTV on and a computer going at same time. Picture quality on a 60Hz Sony 42" HDTV is teriffic. Load times are relatively...
