A Blu-ray player for discerning film fans
Superb pictures, Good support for mobile devices, Solid build quality for the money
Old-fashioned GUI, Limited internet content

Pioneer has prioritised sensibly with the BDP-160, cutting back on features to focus on the picture and sound, and on keeping the price down
Punchy picture ; Weighty sound ; High build quality
Rivals pack more features ; Sparse menu system
The Pioneer BDP-160 has shown that you don’t need shiny looks or snazzy features to be really good.

+ Picture/ sound quality + Does what a BD/DVD/CD player should do i.e does a good job of playing BD/DVD/CD + Build quality for the price - looks good in a traditional kind of way, nice brushed metal finish + All the connectivity options I need (plus...
- Menu system is 'functional', but quite basic and a bit clunky imo - Seems to be very slow on my network to build folder structures when accessing DLNA content via WiFi or via Ethernet (mitigated if using an appropriate Smartphone app and just...
