Is this the ultimate Blu-ray and Freeview PVR combo?

Superb Blu-ray and Freeview HD picture quality ; Good range of network features ; Solid build quality

No built-in Wi-FI ; Viera Connect need more catch-up TV ; Can't record two channels and watch a third ; Won't play DivX, WMA, AAC or FLAC from USB

The inclusion of a second USB port is significant here as the lack of built-in Wi-Fi means you’ll need to plug in Panasonic’s optional dongle (DY-WL5, about £50) to get a wireless web connection. Given the price, the lack of Wi-Fi is a tad...

I FIND THE OVERALL QUALITY OF PICTURE AND SOUND TO BE EXCELLENT. I HAVE NOT YETCOVERED ALL OF THE VIEWING OPTIONS.BUT SO FAR SO GOOD.

I FOUND THE INSTRUCTIONS RATHER DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW-MAYBE THIS IS AN AGE THING. THE DIRECTION CONTROL ON THE REMOTE IS TOO CLOSE TO THE OTHER BUTTONS AND THIS CAN RESULT IN THE WRONG BUTTON BEING PRESSED.

I have one of these Panasonic recorders for each TV in the house and this is my third. Just like the other two, it works as described. Usual excellent Panasonic quality and easy to use for the purpose intended.

Nothing.

Only has an HSDM output socket - no SCART. Picture from HSDM is of extreme contrast and brightness. Spoke to Panasonic and it is not possible to change the picture output.

Great picture and controls easy to use, set up was simple a good product

Annoying if you record two programs at the same time you cannot view other channels. eg you wish to record 2 films at the same time but you just want to watch the news before retiring to bed, it will only let you view the programs you are recording
