Panasonic DMP-BD75

Panasonic's first Blu-ray deck of 2011 is a low-frills affair but delivers the goods in the picture department.

Cracking picture quality, Excellent new operating system, DLNA networking on an entry-level deck

No built-in BD Live memory, Light on features and connections, No AAC, WMA, WMV support

Panasonic DMP-BD75 review

If 3D turns you off, this competent Blu-ray player delivers great pictures

Superb picture quality ; DLNA networking ; MKV support ; Improved onscreen displays ; Quicker disc loading

Basic spec ; No memory or Wi-Fi ; No AAC, WMV or WMA

If you're in the market for a basic Blu-ray player that serves up eye-popping pictures, and you have no need for bells and whistles, then you could do far worse than plump for the DMP-BD75.

Panasonic DMP-BD75 review

Not quite the best in class, but still an impressive player nonetheless

Great build and spec for the cash ; capable of engrossing pictures and emotive audio

Sound can lack dynamism and images can be bettered

It seems churlish to find fault with a £100 player, but you can do (a bit) better

Panasonic DMP-BD75 review

Unsurprisingly, 3D will continue to dominate the home cinema agenda in 2011, with a flood of 3D-capable TVs and Blu-ray products hitting the market as the year unfolds. Indeed, Panasonic's new range of Blu-ray decks includes no fewer than four 3D-ready...

Panasonic DMP-BD75

Always a purveyor of high-end rather than budget Blu-ray decks, it's no surprise that the majority of Panasonic's 2011 output is 3D-ready. 3D support is handled by Panasonic's DMP-BDT310, DMP-BDT210 and DMP-BDT110 decks, and while this DMP-BD75 model...

Crisp 2D high-def, 35mm height, DLNA, DivX & DivX HD support

Limited digital file support via DLNA & USB, lacks optical audio, no WiFi option, no online content

Nicely designed as a small package and delivering some top-notch Blu-ray images, this mid-range 2D deck is nevertheless bettered by similarly priced models from the likes of Sony, which add Lovefilm and BBC iPlayer goodness. If you're after a solid and...

Panasonic DMP-BD75 Blu-ray player

A basic Blu-ray player with no superfluous 3D or Web features

Cheap ; Fast operation

No Web features

As a simple, offline-only non-3D Blu-ray player, Panasonic's DMP-BD75 does well. Its networked features are limited to DLNA playback -- there's no access to any Web features like ABC iView -- but if all you want is a player to watch Blu-ray movies with...

Panasonic DMP-BD75 Review

The entry-level range for Blu-ray players, which would be under the10 grand mark, wasn't even around three years ago. Today, thanks to the reduction...

We know a good Blu-ray player when we see one, and Panasonic’s DMP-BD75 is just that. Yes, it has the bare minimum when it comes to features and yes, it looks far too simple to be anything more than a regular DVD player. But when you watch a Blu-ray,...
