LG BD570 review

Is it a media streamer that can play Blu-rays, or vice-versa?

Comprehensive networking capabilities ; Good BD performance

No internal memory for BD-Live ; Only one front-mounted USB slot

LG BD570 review

Sitting at a very reasonable £190, this LG Blu-ray spinner certainly does much right, but in a highly competitive market that's just not enough

Lovely, lustrous Blu-ray pictures ; decent spec, good build, nice looks

Not the best DVD upscaler around and strangely inhibited sound

Not much wrong with Blu-ray images, but this isn’t the all-rounder some rivals are

LG BD570 review

Aside from the price break, the BD570 hasn't changed much from the BD390. Yes, the BD570 doesn't have 7.1 analog-audio outputs, but there's still NetCast streaming services (including Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Pandora, and Picasa), built-in Wi-Fi, and it...

Excellent Blu-ray image quality; Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Pandora, and CinemaNow streaming; built-in Wi-Fi; plays music, videos, and pictures off a connected USB drive or via network.

Does not support 3D Blu-ray; no quick-start mode, which makes it feel slower compared with some other players; media interface is overdesigned; no onboard storage; must change the output mode to 1080p.

As long as you don't need 3D compatibility, the LG BD570 offers the same mix of solid Blu-ray playback and media streaming that made its predecessor a hit.

LG BD570

The BD570 delivers a beautiful HD picture and is loaded with cool features.

Very fast load times. Wi-Fi enabled. Lots of Internet content streaming options.

Finicky remote buttons. So-so upconversion performance.

If you do not mind the minor flaws, such as limited standard DVD upscaling and poorly designed remote, then by all means this may just be the Blu-Ray player for you. The LG BD570 combines the connectivity of integrated wireless and wired networking...

LG BD570 review – Excellent Blu-ray quality, lacks 3D playback

LG BD390 was the first “must buy” Blu-ray disc player with 7.1 analog audio ports; inbuilt storage; good range of streaming services; and inbuilt Wi-Fi. Now, the company has launched its new product – $250 priced LG BD570, which is less as compared...

Perfect picture quality; inbuilt Wi-Fi; online streaming services such as CinemaNow, Pandora, YouTube, Vudu, Netflix, Picasa, and Weather; plays photos, videos and music through USB drive or DLNA compatible networked computer

No inbuilt storage; over-designed media interface; no quick-start mode; missing support for 3D Blu-ray; need to change up to 1080p output mode

If you need an affordable Blu-ray disc player and can work without onboard storage and quick start mode, then you can buy LG BD5700. However, if you need onboard storage then you can go for LG BD590 and think about Sony BDP-S570 for 3D playback.

LG BD570 WiFi Network Blu-ray Disc PlayerReview

With dongle-free Wi-Fi built right into the BD570, a heaping helping of online goodness--including HD content--is enabled right out of the box.

The greatest strength of the LG BD570 is surely its one-two punch of integrated, unobtrusive, state-of-the-art 802.11n Wi-Fi and a collection of the best online movie/music/more services available, which make it so much more than your run-of-the-mill...
