LG adds YouTube access to its burgeoning Blu-ray portfolio
BD Live and YouTube ; Quick disc loading ; Swanky looks
No multichannel analogue outs ; Poor YouTube picture quality
A great-value deck that seamlessly brings YouTube into the living room – as well as making the most of Blu-ray discs

This LG Blu-ray player may have some virtues but it can't handle pictures as well as its rivals
Good spec ; good build ; attractive price ; does fine work with movement and colours
HD images are soft and short of detail ; upscales DVDs through gritted teeth ; sound lacks substance
For all its virtues, the fact remains the LG doesn’t make Blu-rays look as good as it should

Over the past year we've seen many devices that offer some form of internet connectivity, stepping beyond the still rather youthful BD-Live services, to a more comprehensive offering. The LG BD370 is such a connected player, with YouTube getting a firm...
MPEG4 and MKV playback, YouTube, design, price, plays Blu-ray too
Networking can be fiddle, potentially prone to crashes
This is much more than just a Blu-ray player, stepping into the domain of the media bridge too and that's no bad thing for your average consumer. It delivers all this goodness at an attractive price, and you can currently pick up the BD370 for around...

The LG Electronics BD370's performance was dead-even with that of its sibling, the LG BD390, on all but one component of our tests (brightness, where the BD370 was ever so slightly better).
These annoying quirks aside, a great picture and a truckload of multimedia goodies make the LG Electronics BD370 one of the best Blu-ray players available at its price.

LG's affordable Blu-ray player arrives promising lightening load times. But does its picture hold up?
For all its virtues, the fact remains the LG doesn't make Blu-rays look as good as it should

If you've been following the Blu-ray market, it was getting obvious toward the end of 2008 that standalone players needed to innovate, since previous step-up features, like Profile 2.0 and DTS-HD Master Audio , were becoming standard. LG was the first...
Streams Netflix and YouTube; Profile 2.0 compatible; onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential; relatively quick load times.
Competitors offer better image quality on Blu-ray and DVD; no Wi-Fi option.
LG's entry-level Blu-ray player packs Netflix and YouTube at a reasonable price, but the BD370's image quality is a step below the best.

You will be able to make the most out of the BD370 if you have a broadband internet connection. You can hook up the BD370 via an Ethernet cable and then take your TV online to access video on demand streaming services provided by CinemaNow. The BD370...

I always enjoy reviewing a Blu-ray player, one because I do not own one but do have several Blu-ray discs including several that will not play in a PC with a Blu-ray player, even experts do not know why and two its an excuse to watch Blu-ray movies.
Half way through the review period I got a new TV in for review from Sony (review in a couple of weeks) so this has been tested not only with my 32inch TV but a brand new 40inch Bravia as well. In a short space of time The Blu-ray player has developed...

But the most surprising thing about the BD370 is its YouTube feature, allowing you to browse the video sharing website and view whatever's there. No, you can't view any HD content, but it's easy, if a little slow, to find your way around the full...
Good looks, YouTube, low price
Picture not as good as others

Unless you're also looking for a games machine, this Blu-ray deck is nigh on perfect.
Great pictures, neat extras and a fair price
Wired connections mean getting online is awkward
