Only buy if you live in dry/desert climate

This is the 2nd one we've owned and it's great! We live in Boise, ID and summers are usually hot and dry since we're upper desert here. The first one lasted about 6-7 years and we only replaced wick once. We usually just use in summer as a backup...

Better than air conditioner in dry, hot climates because doesn't dry your nose, eyes etc ; Has a remote for us lazy people ; Has oscillating louvers inside that move the air around, but can be turned off if you just need it to blow in certain direction...

Having to fill with water isn't my favorite thing, but it does last quite a while on one filling ; Do need to replace wick inside after a couple of years depending on how much you use it ; Wish the horizontal louvers on outside were motorized like the...

Swamp Cooler

It works well as a fan. Doesn't push as much air or make as much noise as a box fan, but it does a lot better than an oscillating fan I have that's about the same size.

Strong (but noisy) fan. Remote comes in handy at times

I'm somewhat disappointed with this product. I owned a large swamp cooler at a previous home that attached to the side of the house and pumped enough air in to cool the whole place. I don't have the time to do the same setup at this new home so I...

Just a fan/humidifier

Im sorry I bought this thing. Its taking up space now.

It works as a fan only

Drains too much power just for it being a fan humidifier. Does not cool a small room. Only makes things very humid and warm on hot days. Its a shoddy unit. Buy a real AC during the winter to anticipate the hot summers

Great for cooling my workstation

It's definitely great for a small room or office. Moisturizes the air in places where computers/electronic equipment can really make the air feel dusty and dry. The low power usage enables you to run it 24/7 without any worries, and maintenance has...

I was looking for a cheap and efficient alternative to having to buy an air conditioner for my small room, which consists of various computer equipment (Desktop, laptops, duplicators, etc.) This air cooler basically keeps my tiny workstation breezy and...

Positioning this thing to get the most out of it was a chore. You definitely need to keep it close by if you're going to feel the cool air. I've managed to set it up so that it can reach the back of my workstation, without having it blowing against my...

Doesnt cool. Just makes it worst...

This thing will work nicely during cold seasons. But then... why the heck would anyone want to cool a cold room?

Its ok for fan use or if you want to humidify a dry room during the winter. lol.. seriously

Ionizer is a fluke. It also makes the room sticky and doesnt even cool a thing. Im in a very small room and it did nothing but make things more uncomfortable. Its not an air cooler. Its an air humidifier. The amount of chores you have to go through...

Nothing to write home about

It gets 3 stars because in reality, the product never claims to be an air conditioner--it does what it says it will do. However, it just really doesn't seem worth the effort. It's way to much work for a mediocre result. I would suggest keeping your...

Does what it says it will do. It cools the air slightly better than an air conditioner. Functions of unit work as manufacturer claims

Really not worth the effort. You have to put tons of ice in it for it to cool the air, and refill often with water and ice. You have to clean it all the time so it doesn't smell. And 12 degrees cooler? Ha! Try maybe 3 to 5

Good cooling, decent price.

The remote provided isn't the same one pictures here, but it works fine.

Cools the room well. Easy to install and operate

Water needs refilled often

Greate southwest cooler

Perfect for dry southwest climates.

Water level indicator is on front, bottom hard to see when filling, dark, no light.
