Works great for small rooms

It's a bit noisy and clunky, I still have to block one of my windows to put the exhaust pipe out (that's the case with any portable AC though) I set mine up about 2 feet above the floor (on top of the heater by the window, hah) and the water drains...

Works great, it's an AC on wheels. For a small room of about 15x15 it works great, for a bigger room (where I use it) of 18x25 it works fine with a fan to help circulate the air. Remote's simple to use and does what it needs to do. Looks nice in...

Everyone complains about the water dripping and this and that, if you read the instructions it specifically says to plug up one of the 2 drains. I use the lower drain with the white tube it came with and it drains just fine, the red light indicator...

Don't waste your time or money on this one

I purchased this unit March 2008 in anticipation of a sweltering summer. I had read good things about this AC online. My condo has sliding windows so a window AC was not an option and I liked the sleek stainless look the Whynter SNO had. Upon its...

Sleek design, portability, convenience of a remote. The general concept of the unit.

Poorly made, low-grade materials, inadequate cooling, water fills too often (every 2 hours for my unit), flooding despite drain plugs in place, Whynter customer service unhelpful.

Second one still won't cool

I bought this air comditioner about a year ago, based on prior recommendations. What a mistake! The first one did not cool, it was returned and the second one does not work.

This is the second one I have tried. The first one was returned, do to it not cooling. A second one was shipped to me. Due to it being the end of last summer, I did not open the box it to try it. What a mistake. I recently opened the box, removed the...

I bought a 300 dollar fan

Well built, very stylish.

Don't buy this Portable Air Conditioner

I wish I could return this useless marvel of engineering unit back to newegg.

NONE

Leaks water even thought I have the plug on!! Started leaking after 30 minutes of turning unit on. After draining the pan2 times still could not cool a room of 200 sq ft!!

Not worth the money

I would go to Costco where it is easy to return something of this size and buy a dual hose unit. Dual hose units use one hose to bring air in to cool and one to expel exhaust. This provides much better cooling than single hose units.

It looks good, has a remote.

Doesn't cool my 200 sq ft office or my bedroom one bit. The air from the air conditioning part is not cold, rather cool and therefore is ineffective and cooling.

Good

Great Unit for the price, indoor units need quite a bit more power to cool then the equivalent BTU outside units, get a 10k-12k+ for computer or multi rooms.

Cool Air! Works inside. Duely note that it has a flex hose appox. 5 feet to be vented outside the bulding. I have had it running foe 72 hours in humid conditions without the red light. With 2 high power computers and lights it cools even on 98* days....

Window kit is a little basic, have a utility knife and a measureing tape to install.

Decent unit, needs better QA

I picked up two of these units. On its own, I would've given the 1st unit 4 eggs - 1 egg off due to the relative difficulty of getting the exhaust vent assembled. (My approach: use needle nose pliers to gently work vent hose over ridges in collar....

Seems to be handling a typical New England summer well. Sharp drop in humidity, and managed to keep an average inside temp in the low 80s even when the outside temps were in the upper 90s. Resumes operation properly after power failure - every other...

Exhaust vent was a bit of a pain to assemble. Quality assurance testing could be better (see below). Loud, but on par with previous window-mount AC units I've owned that were rated with a similar capacity. The first day I had to empty the lower drain...

Decent portable a/c, but terrible RMA service

My first 10D turned out to be defective, so I had to exchange it for another one. When I called Newegg to request for an exchange, they never mentioned that it would take 3-5 business days to get my 10D back. I found out latter through an email they...

I will not state the obvious or things that other reviewers have already mentioned about the a/c. Instead, I will try to cover things that have not been mentioned about the 10D. Right out of the box, the 10D looks better than most a/c units I have...

The tank full “red light” indicator comes on quite often. The “self-evaporation” would take several hours until the red light would shut off. Whynter suggested using the continuous draining method to correct this problem. I had a problem with my first...
