Vanquish – Xbox 360 Review

Vanquish – Xbox 360 ReviewPosted on October 29, 2010 | 3 CommentsPlatinum Games have produced a truly unbelievable game – built on a Western template but covered in Eastern design, Vanquish brings East and West together for one of 2010's finest games.

Cheers dude – it is an awesome game. I just love everything about it. I was also going to mention how cool this game makes smoking look – but I thought it socially irresponsible.

Vanquish

Imagine sliding along the ground, jets attached to your legs propelling you forward. Drawing your weapon, time grinds to a halt granting you pin point accuracy as you blast away into swarms of robots, heavy music playing along in the back ground. If...

Vanquish is a fast, ridiculous action game but is let down by a confusing plot and lack of variety in its gameplay. It does have some great moments but it doesn’t give you enough time to enjoy them before it moves onto the next section.

Vanquish Xbox 360 Review

Vanquish is a third person shooter with a cover mechanic implemented, though it has enough of its own ideas that, unlike fellow Japanese crafted game Quantum Theory, it's far from a clone of Gears of War and is actually one of the more unique cover...

Vanquish may not be a huge game or offer much in terms of variety or innovation, but it’s a wonderfully designed and delicately balanced game. It twists modern western third person action gaming convention but also possesses a Japanese style – it has a...

Vanquish Xbox 360 Review

In the past few years, third-person shooter games have become moreand more common, the most iconic of these being Gears of War with it's innovative cover system. Can Vanquish make a name for itself in this already saturated market?

Ticks all the boxes for a third-person action adventure ; Fast paced ; Kept me interested

Music/effects dwarfs voice overs ; May get a little monotonous for some

Vanquish

If you enjoy shooters then you absolutely must experience Vanquish; just know that you're not going to be getting much more than a weekend's play unless you get addicted to high scores and challenges.

Vanquish Review

Short but incredibly sweet.

Non-stop action ; Stylish and incredibly polished ; JET BOOTS

Voice acting ; Story ; I want more

"Vanquish" is a short, feature rich, rollercoaster ride. While it may lack multiplayer it does manage to extend its life by virtue of simply being so much fun that you will want to play it through again just to experience it once more. With so many set...

Vanquish Review

Platinum Games has been making quite a name for themselves and for good reason. Formed by members of Capcom's long-gone Clover Studio and led by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, Platinum Games has already gained a reputation for taking familiar...

Once again, Platinum Games has taken what’s been done before, mix it all together, and make for a fun game with Vanquish. However, like their previous title Bayonetta, they’re still missing a quality narrative to make for a completely amazing...

Vanquish

This gleeful third-person shooter is outrageously fun.

Sliding around and shifting into slow motion is a blast ; A constant barrage of explosions, bullets and robots ; Fantastic boss fights heat up the action ; Smooth controls ensure an always-fair challenge ; Frequent set-piece environments add flair and...

Corny dialogue and voice acting ; Ends too soon

Vanquish

Classic, fast-paced action that rarely lets up. On the surface Vanquish looks like just another humdrum space shooter featuring a nameless protagonist that will get lost somewhere between the latest...

Fast-paced action ; Rock solid frame rate ; Stylish combat ; Spot-on controls

Goofy voice acting ; Definitely a short ride
