Titanfall review

Titans and Pilots do glorious battle in Respawn's audacious new FPS

Pilot/Titan dynamic is amazing ; Extremely accessible ; Well designed maps and weapons

More game modes would be nice ; Only three Titans...

Titanfall

Re-reviewed and re-scored: Nearly a year on, Titanfall is still a great multiplayer shooter

Fast, fluid player movement is a game changer ; Superb balance of play between pilots and Titans ; Addictive action and compulsive levelling up ; You don't need to be an expert to enjoy it

Campaign storyline stuff is thin and unengaging

We hope that we'll see a better fusion of narrative and action in the sequel, not to mention more imaginative game modes, but as it is Titanfall is an FPS to rival Call of Duty, Left for Dead and Battlefield, and one which sets high standards for a new...

Titanfall review

Microsoft's robot fighting sim has landed, hoping to make a Titan-sized dent in the fortunes of the PS4. But is it the FPS revolution we were promised?

Well-balanced matches ; Boarding your Titan never gets old ; Pilot movement is parkour done properly

Attrition mode is dull ; Campaign feels tacked-on ; Can’t be played offline

Hardly a revolution in online shooters but Titanfall is still greater than the sum of its parts

Titanfall review

Despite looking from afar like a design-by-committee attempt to seize as much of Call of Duty's territory as possible, the much-hyped multiplayer shooter Titanfall (from the one-time creators of the aforementioned COD) turns out to be big on smarts and...

Thrilling, accessible, and with more focus on responsive movement and agility than straightforward shooting, Titanfall is a shot in the arm for what was threatening to become a stale genre. Let's just hope its over-dependence on paid DLC doesn't lay it...

Titanfall review (Xbox One, 360, PC)

"Leave. You suck!"

Accessible, gorgeous visuals, balanced gameplay, interesting tofight alongside giant robots

No single-player mode, no way to play offline without internet,"campaign" mode is a little misleading as to the fact it's stillmultiplayer

Titanfall is a terrific game, accessible and rewarding. It's clearly the initial release in a long line of updates, mappacks and improvements -- and it's off to a strong start. It's notwithout its drawbacks, particularly for gamers who hate having...

Titanfall

Imagine: It's the future. You're caught in the middle of an epic firefight. In the thick of the action you look upwards. Out of the sky drops an enormous 24-foot-tall weaponized behemoth. And it's waiting for a pilot: you.

Titanfall Review

A very good first instalment, but the best is yet to come.

Fast and addictive ; A nice evolution of the Call of Duty formula

Maps aren't distinct enough ; Game modes showing their age

Titanfall (Xbox One)

Titanfall, the Xbox One's first big tent-pole release, thrills with fast-paced mech-shooting action that appeals to FPS noobs and vets alike.

Impressive weaponry. Fun to play as both Titans and pilots. Useful Burn Cards. Lots of maps

Generic story. No environmental destruction

Titanfall is a game with the weight of the industry riding its steel-plated shoulders. Respawn Entertainment's mech-and-parkour first-person shooter has stockpiled awards since its E3 2013 reveal, and the hype escalated tenfold after a brief beta test...

Titanfall PC Review

A friend of mine the other day summed up my thoughts about Titanfall with a pretty simple idea: It's like waking up from a really good dream. It feels great while it lasts, but ten minutes after you've woken up, you've forgotten what the dream was...

I look forward to more, Respawn, but Titanfall's sequel, whatever it turns out to be, needs more depth and more lasting power if you want to capture PC gamers.
