In our eyes, Square Enix now holds the crown for the most enjoyable and immersive sandbox action title on the 360 to date.

During my time spent on Sleeping Dogs, I only noticed two people on my friends list also playing the game, and that is a huge shame. This doesn't mean that the game is terrible, since this without a doubt, surpasses anything that the 360 has to offer...

Sleeping Dogs Xbox 360 Review

If not for Square Enix, Sleeping Dogs could have very well been one of those games that would have slept eternally. Originally the third game in the True Crime series, publisher Activision decided to throw it on the scrapheap, citing that the game...

There’s little else to say other than thank you Square Enix from saving Sleeping Dogs from the scrapheap. United Front’s game has very few of its own ideas, but it’s a nice blend of gameplay mechanics from different games. The driving offers instant...

You have a license to kill, not to break the traffic laws." It's one of my favourite lines from the 1997 film, "Tomorrow Never Dies" and while its an odd quote to start this review with, it's oddly fitting. Amongst all the gang violence, gunplay and...

Sleeping Dogs is an exciting open world adventure that charts Wei Shen's exploits as he attempts to infiltrate a powerful criminal organisation. It asks a few poignant questions and whilst it might cop out on a few of those answers it does provide an...

Sleeping Dogs review: One of the best open world games of recent years

Most open world games see you playing the role of either the cop or the criminal.

Entertaining story ; Being good AND bad ; Rewarding upgrade system

Twitchy vehicle handling ; Lack of technical polish ; Some lame filler missions

Sleeping Dogs may not offer anything particularly new and certainly nothing groundbreaking, but what it does do is deliver sharp, thrilling and just downright enjoyable action to savour.

Varied and violent ; Fantastic missions

Technologically shaky ; Generic, by definition

Sleeping Dogs may not offer anything particularly new and certainly nothing groundbreaking, but what it does do is deliver sharp, thrilling and just downright enjoyable action to savour. Other open-worlders have tried to veer from Rockstar's path, some...

Sleeping Dogs Review

Varied missions, hard-hitting melee combat, and a captivating setting make Sleeping Dogs an enjoyable escapade.

Savage melee combat ; Alluring atmosphere ; Fun driving and gunplay ; Varied missions ; Numerous collectibles to hunt down and other enjoyable diversions

Unattractive character models and environmental textures

Once you complete the first few missions, you're free to explore the island as you see fit. But Sleeping Dogs is an open-world game in which you're sure to enjoy the structured missions more than the opportunities for free-form mayhem. It's fun for a...

Sleeping Dogs review – true crime story

Saved from cancellation and with no competition from Grand Theft Auto V, is this descent into Hong Kong's underworld the best open world game of 2012?

An excellent Hong Kong atmosphere, with great combat, gunplay, and racing. Well-designed game world and plenty of side quests

The story and characters are cliché, and the plot offers little player choice. Almost all the gameplay is borrowed from other titles. Some dud mission types

In gameplay terms Sleeping Dogs is better than Grand Theft Auto IV and almost all other open world games, although it does lack innovation and a voice of its own.

Sleeping Dogs Review

Will this latest sandbox game prove to be a sleeping giant or a real dog's dinner?

The summer of 2012 was a pretty barren one in terms of quality game releases and thankfully "Sleeping Dogs" was one game released during this period that really stood out as being a high quality release.
