Saints Row: The Third review

Can the third Saints Row game outplay Grand Theft Auto? And is it even trying to?

It’s not clever, but Saints Row: The Third is big, brash and bonkers good fun

Saints Row: The Third review

A consistently improving open-world franchise embraces its inner-cheesiness.

Fun, flexible, agreeably absurd gameplay involving a lot of things that go boom real big, plus a raft of very memorable characters: that pimp with the auto-tuned voice, Burt Reynolds... The game does suffer a few technical and interface issues, however.

Saints Row: The Third

First, a history lesson. The original Saints Row felt like a company capitalising on Grand Theft Auto not yet arriving on the next generation consoles. It was the ‘gangsta' to GTA's ‘gangster' and it was difficult to tell if it was supposed to be a...

Saints Row: The Third - Genki Bowl VII Review

Genki Bowl VII's four quick activities lack the excitement and humor of your earlier adventures in Steelport.

Sad Panda Skyblazing is an outrageous new activity ; Adds a huge ball of yarn to your garage

Two new events are just disappointing variants on existing activities ; Lacks the core game's humor ; Very brief

After completing your first Genki Apocalypse event, you're invited to take advantage of a Super Ethical PR Opportunity. Here, you must drive the psychopathic professor himself to a public appearance. Professor Genki's ride, the Genki Mobile, is...

Saints Row: The Third

Saints Row is about as far away from sensible as you can possibly get. It's ridiculous brand of gang violence and low-brow humour has slowly managed to endear the series to the gaming community over the course of the last few years. With GTA IV going...

Saints Row: The Third is every bit as much fun as you would expect from the series. There's crazy weapons like The Penetrator, a cross between a baseball bat and a giant purple dildo, the opportunity to cross dress, and even streak, loads of...

Saints Row The Third PC Review

I would have started this review with some vaguely semi-humorous opening statement, but in the case of Saints Row: The Third, the sheer insane nature of the title speaks for itself and requires no introduction, so I'll get straight to it.

Fantastic character customisation ; Great voice acting ; Satisfying combat

Some questionable music choices ; Occasional pop up and frame rate issues

Saints Row: The Third Xbox 360 Review

Saints Row has always been a counterpoint to the darker toned GTA IV and, with its sense of humour and action, is closer in nature to earlier iterations of Rockstar's mega popular sandbox series. Saints Row: The Third is undoubtedly the first time that...

Saints Row: The Third is easily one of this year’s best games. It’s fantastically absurd fun, with a sandbox environment that never feels empty, and the basics of the genre are executed to a high level. It isn’t the kind of game that advances the...

Saints Row: The Third (Xbox 360)

Come out to play.

You can look at minor niggles in the game, some of which are design choices, others that will no doubt be patched out and consider whether or not points should be dropped from the score but if you do that, you’d better start from twelve because no...

Saints Row The Third

Volition and THQ provide us with the wildest sandbox experience on any console to date, at the expense of no multiplayer.

In conclusion, Saints Row The Third provides a highly enjoyable single player and co-operative experience. The developers wanted to create a sandbox game where anarchy is at its highest peak and they have succeeded; no other game of this genre provides...
