Red Dead Redemption

This open-world Western is more than just Grand Theft Auto on horseback.

Games review - Red Dead Redemption is a sharp shooter

Grand Theft Auto in the Wild West almost sounds too good to be true but Rockstar's latest is almost everything you could've have hoped for.

Stunningly beautiful and near perfect Wild West ambience. Solid action and lots of mission variety

The plot and characters do go on a bit. Some elements are underused and there are some quite frequent bugs

Possibly the best Grand Theft Auto game never made and one of the most atmospheric video games ever.

Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 Review

Rockstar Games is undoubtedly one of the most widely recognisable developers with a reputation for controversial sandbox titles. Despite the media storm that usually follows every release, their games never fail to perform incredibly well, both...

Astonishing game environment ; Involving and deep story ; Huge replay value ; Excellent range of multiplayer content

Some glitches after prolonged game sessions ; Similar to Grand Theft Auto series

Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 Review

Over the years there have been quite a number of cowboy games, but in recent years there surprisingly hasn't been that many to speak of. Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption is likely to change all of that – I can see this doing for cowboy games what Medal...

Red Dead Redemption is an exceptionally detailed game with an immersive, living world. None of the latter is surprising considering Rockstar’s expertise and financial resources; it's just a shame that the lack of challenge and the bugs had to detract...

Red Dead Redemption

Rockstar reminds us of why they are the crown holders of open-world, sandbox games.

In conclusion, RDR is a title that must be experienced by everyone who has a decent taste in games. Nothing about it feels incomplete. Bar a very few minor glitches, it's perfect in almost every way. Rockstar San Diego can easily make a sequel to RDR...

Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360)

How the Western genre was won.

So not as perfect as you might have been hearing in this humble reviewer’s opinion but a very good game nonetheless. Did I mention the lasso though?

Red Dead Redemption

Games Xtreme goes with John Marston in search of some redemption, riding the open plains of the Old Dying West and living the cowboy's dream in Rockstar's pinnacle achievement: Red Dead Redemption.

Buy this game now; seriously, it’s one of the best games on both the PS3 and 360. There’s no equal, forget Call of Duty. This is where it's at for now and the foreseeable future.

Red Dead Redemption - Review

How the West was won

Finally got round to playing it. Brilliant game with some of the most entertaining online co-op I've experienced.

Red Dead Redemption

From the makers of Grand Theft Auto comes Grand Theft Auto cowboy - a glib statement perhaps, but one that we've seen wheeled out on several occasions. Is Red Dead Redemption really just GTA with horses, rusty old six shooters and stetsons though, or...

Some of the frustrations we had with GTA IV still persist in Red Dead Redemption, but then it's hard to feel resentment when every square inch of its intricate world is impeccably detailed and every one of its characters, both core and peripheral are...

Red Dead Redemption

So yes, the action rocks bells. But I still can't help but feel that for me, it's the less familiar elements that help to make Red Dead Redemption the best game of 2010 thus far.
