Dissapointed

By A Customer (sofacinema.co.uk) Read the full review

I rented the game under the assumption it would've been similar to a story based oblivion RPG. Instead it is an extremely linear experience, with little to do other than complete repetitive objectives. Leave this game, period.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements Â- Xbox 360 review - Pocket-lint

By Chris Pickering (pocket-lint.com)

Can the old favourite on the PC still cut it?

Slaughtering monsters is always fun, extra content over the PC original

It might not be the best, but this brutal action-em-up will while away the hours a treat

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements Review for Xbox 360

By Tom Orry (videogamer.com)

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements for Xbox 360 Review - Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Elements has arrived on the Xbox 360 far too late, with recent releases leaving it looking and feeling a little too much like a budget release.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements (Xbox 360)

By (cnet.com)

Adding a subtitle hasn't improved Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. This tardy Xbox 360 port of the first-person action RPG that premiered on the PC in late 2006 remains solidly third-rate even with the word "Elements" strangely appended to the original...

Arkane Studios and Ubisoft may have taken well beyond a year to presumably spit-shine everything for the game's console debut, but the mind-numbingly repetitive combat, bland story, and awkward level design haven't been changed much at all. Only...

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes Review

By Daemon Hatfield (gear.ign.com)

Like Puzzle Quest before it, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes marries puzzle gameplay and role-playing elements with much success.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is where it's at . I loved it on DS, and this HD version is even better. A deep, clever puzzle game mixes well with a beautiful role-playing adventure. This is a game to get lost in, providing hours and hours of single-...

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Review

By Chad Grischow (planetxbox360.com)

As a public service announcement from gamers to would-be game developers, here is a little equation to help prevent the kind of mistakes made in Dark Messiah: First Person Perspective + Platforming x Time Limits = Terrible Gameplay. Do us all a...

The reliance on platforming badly mars the gameplay, which never fares well with a first-person view. To make matters worse, there are several points in the game where you are not only asked to leap around like Donkey Kong Jr. from rope to rope, but...

Unfortunately, the problems with this poor-man's Oblivion clone are not limited to its awkward platforming elements.

Maybe the game was trying to tell me something. Overall, "Dark Elements" could have been an engaging mixture of RPG and action elements, but the game goes light on the RPG elements, pulls together a thin story and the action - while passable for a...

Dark Messiah Might and Magic: Elements (Xbox 360) Review

By Ty Huston (411mania.com)

The PC game powered by Valve's source engine is ported to the 360. How does it stack up? Click here to find out.

My personal take is that this game has received a bad wrap from most reviews. Dark Messiah is a fun game, but I personally won’t buy it until it comes down in price or I can get a used one for cheap. It’s not the kind of game that defines a system...

Some may doubt the game and hate on it because the PC version is better, but porting games are not easy and they've done a fine job with this one.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Elements

By Stephen Riach (game-over.com)

Did you know the Might and Magic franchise is over 20 years old? My introduction to the series came back in the late 80s, when a friend of mine bought me Might and Magic II for the PC. I played that game to death, though I don't believe I ever finished...

When the PC version of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic was released late in 2006, it had issues with both single- and multiplayer. Here we are a little over a year later, the Xbox 360 version doesn't fare much better. The combat system is still...

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Elements is the Xbox 360 port of the initial PC game and now that our history lesson is complete, let's see if it plays any better than its PC counterpart.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements

By Brian Edey (Falelorn) (gamefocus.ca)

RPG fans have a few staple games which are almost always a must buy, one of these was the series Might and Magic for PC. It was a fun RPG series with a more traditional sense of gameplay but took a new path with Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Far...

Fun combat ; Physics fun ; Dungeons are excellent ; Campy story ; Controller layout for quick selection is second nature

Voice overs are terrible ; Main character seems to float when he moves ; Bad graphics at times bring the game down

Multiplayer has also been included and honestly it felt like a poor Battlefield rip off and was boring, contrived and really lacking in any value. The multiplayer felt tacked on and it makes me wonder if multiplayer was dropped, how much better could...

This is another case of a developer choosing to add multiplayer for the sake of having it. Multiplayer really should only be added to a game if it plans to compete with the top names or at least bring something to the table new and interesting

So hit and miss it isn't even fair. Buy only if you're looking for gamerscore and or have a penchant for recycled high fantasy crap.
