Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow – Xbox 360 Review

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow – Xbox 360 ReviewPosted on November 3, 2010 | No CommentsIt won't stand the test of time, like many other Castlevania titles, but it'll keep you entertained for long enough to genuinely enjoy it.

Given this, it’s an enjoyable romp through a world that the developers haven’t had to think about too much. It’s all there in the series: long, whip-style weapon, vampires, werewolves, zombies etc… so the result is a very fashionable game complete with...

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

If ever there was proof that a game can be simply too long, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is just that. Set over two discs, the initial 'wow, look how much there is to do!' eventually downgrades to more of a 'how the hell am I going to get this all...

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a fantastic journey that you'll be exploring for weeks on end. With tens of hours of content and challenges to overcome, this may well be the epic saga you've been waiting for. If only the experience was slightly...

Castlevania - Lords of Shadow

Is Castlevania back like a bat out of hell? Or a fly out of a fruit bowl?

Games review - Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow has bite

Konami give Castlevania a long overdue reboot, but can the venerable vampire killer really compete against new pretenders like God Of War?

Accessible, fun combat with plenty of interesting ideas for those that invest in it. Generally good graphics, with an excellent variety of backdrops and enemies

Despite attempts to hide the fact the combat doesn't have much depth. Annoying puzzles and few new ideas, especially given how much time they're stretched over

It's rare to criticise a game for being too long, but some judicious editing could have turned this long-needed reboot into a real God Of War beater.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Lords of Shadow is exactly what the Castlevania franchise needed to find popularity with a new generation of gamers - and us oldies too. One of the best games of 2010.

Time to go a-vampire hunting.

This may not quite be the Castlevania were all familiar with, but it doesnt matter it's better for it.

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow Review

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is so different from previous games in the franchise that Konami are worried that fans won't accept the changes. "It was quite a radical departure from what had gone before with Castlevania and there was a little bit of...

Spectacular action adventure ; Epic story ; Great combat

Platforming should have been better ; Show its influences ; Castlevania fans may be disappointed

Many of the flaws are simply minor problems though, and ones that do little to spoil the overall enjoyment of the game. Lords of Shadow may not be the Castlevania game the hardcore followers were hoping for, but despite this it's one of the finest...

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Xbox 360 Review

For the first time in 25 years of Castlevania, the franchise is wiping the slate clean and heading down a path which is unfamiliar for the series. Touted as a reboot, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a 3D action adventure title, opting for more of a...

Amazing visuals ; Great voice acting ; Gripping storyline

Framerate issues ; Control confusions ; Can be pad crushingly frustrating on harder difficulty levels

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Review

Konami have promised us the most spectacular Castlevania of all time but will this be nothing more than a false promise?

Stunning graphics ; Superb sound and story ; Good gameplay

Fixed camera is pretty poor ; Some puzzles a little too frustrating ; Combat can be a little repetitive

I will admit that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was not on my list of must have games however it did not take much playing to realise that this is one of those games that has well and truly crept under the radar to become one of my most enjoyed gaming...

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Review

While this is probably the best contender for God of War in recent memory, the game is a mixed bag for fans of the legendary series.

Lord of Shadows, whether you like it or not, is considered yet another reboot for the series. You won’t really understand how though until the very end (and by that I mean wait after the credits for the epilogue). If you are looking for a quality epic...
