Games review - Bayonetta will fly you to the moon

The first game release of the year is also destine to be one of the best with third person combat that makes Devil May Cry and God Of War look tediously tame.

Superbly versatile combat that's both accessible and deep. Huge variety, great main character and fun homages

The story and cut scenes are a complete waste of time. Minor camera problems and oddly inert levels

One of the best third person actioners of all time manages to make Dante and Kratos look like amateurs.

Bayonetta Xbox 360 Review

Mature games that treat adult gamers as adults are a more prevalent happening these days, though nowhere near to the extent that one might expect. SEGA's and Platinum Game's Bayonetta, with its eponymous, potentially embarrassing leading lady and...

It may very well be juvenile, but, similarly to Devil May Cry its distant relation, with Bayonetta that’s all part of the madcap fun. It's hard not to be charmed by its strong Japanese sensibilities and dazzled by its ultra fast and fluid combat, all...

Bayonetta (Xbox 360)

You play as the titular Bayonetta, the last surviving witch, as she tries to regain her memories after awakening from many centuries worth of sleep. She is constantly harassed by surprisingly hideous angels along the way however, trying to end her...

Arguably the best game of its type (easily this gen), this, MadWorld and Clover Studio’s back catalogue show Platinum Games are an incredibly talented company who manage to let the style enhance (rather than replace) the gameplay. Hopefully they’ll...

Bayonetta review

Hideki Kamiya, the designer behind Bayonetta, is something of a rock star Japanese developer akin to Miyamoto (Mario) and Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy) -- he's just never stayed on one franchise long enough to be admitted to the hall of fame. Still, his CV...

Well designed and engrossing fighting system is utterly addictive. Absolutely awe inducing boss fights and ludicrously cool set piece events

Presentation is just plain weird from top to toe; the music will grate, the visual design is bonkers and the story is almost unintelligible. Difficulty spikes will drive some players nuts

Bayonetta

Bayonetta, the wild and wicked witch is about to be put through her paces by Games Xtreme, can she leave Dante in the dust or is this just too much flash and not enough bang?

Bayonetta is a fun game, bottom line, if you ignore the overt sexual theme and cursing there’s a lot to like. If you like that kind of thing, then you’ll love the game. It's got a solid combat system and is worth playing.

Bayonetta

SEGA's latest action/adventure game surpasses all expectations.

In conclusion, Bayonetta is a game that almost consists of no flaws. Platinum Games have clearly used DMC as inspiration for this and the gamer will enjoy all 10+ hours of the single player. What's brilliant is that despite games like GOW, DMC and...

Bayonetta Xbox 360 Review

Bayonetta is the type of game you really do start to question what game developers do while they are creating their master piece of gaming history. You see the creator behind such great games as Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe is spearheading this new...

Brilliant Control System ; Great Attention to detail ; Solid game

Story line is quiet confusing ; Less puzzle more action than other game

Bayonetta (Xbox 360, PS3) review

As I play through each stage of Bayonetta I find myself thinking ahead, anxiously wondering what could be next. In most games, if I find myself doing such an act it is because I am getting bored, and I start to ponder what could be ahead in hope the...

Bayonetta is a completely OTT game with singular vision, containing ideas that make sense only in the mind of Hideki Kamiya - the game's creator. It's an insight into what he thinks games should be about, and a love letter to the uniqueness of the...

Bayonetta for Xbox 360 review

Not since the days of Lara Croft's domination over hot-blooded male video gamers has a female character managed to captivate and enthral like Bayonetta, the titular star of Sega's latest hot-blooded action title. Does this dominatrix-style protagonist...

The frantic gameplay, sassy lead character and the fact that at certain points, the game literally turns your world upside down thanks to Bayonetta's witch-like powers

The plot is a bit daft, and some of the dialogue is truly cringe-worthy

Bayonetta is possibly the coolest video game we’ve ever experienced; it's also one of the campest
