Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Review

Assassin's Creed has had a troubled past. Since its second iteration the series has felt lost and unfocused, but with Black Flag Ubisoft might just have [...]

I was all but ready to give up on the Assassin's Creed series after last year's disappointing entry. I'd accepted that ACII would never be beat, that with it the formula had come as close as it would to perfection. I'm very pleased to say that...

Assassin's Creed 3: Tyranny of King Washington DLC - Episode 1 review

Connor isn't Connor in this alternate timeline. He never met Achilles, never trained as an assassin, and was never given his new name. He's simply Ratonhnhaké:ton, and instead of white robes he wears animal skins. But here's the twist: he remembers...

Intriguing premise ; Unique stealth mechanics

Feels too familiar at times ; Weak side missions

Assassin's Creed III Review

So this is the 5th (not the 3rd) Assassin's Creed game, and the 4th in as many years. Are Ubisoft killing off their own series with the yearly iteration [...]

Assassin’s Creed III" makes some important steps forwards, and some bizarre ones back. For all the greatness of the naval battles, forest free-running and fantastic art, the horrible UI, bad frame-rate, poor mission design make me just sigh that so...

Assassin's Creed III Review

Assassin's Creed III's joyous blend of parkour and storytelling is enthralling, even when technical issues threaten to derail the fun.

Great storytelling that bridges two time periods ; Exciting sea battles ; Watching your homestead come together provides a sense of progress ; Lots of historical and visual details to admire ; Varied missions make good use of individual mechanics

Far too many bugs and other technical issues ; Hunting is underdeveloped ; Parkour and stealth inconsistencies

You spend most of your time as Connor, however, though this fact may not be abundantly clear when you first leap into the past. Within the first several hours of the game, you do get chances to experience the fanciful parkour mechanics for which the...

Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation review: Console-calibre adventuring

While

Structurally similar to its console brother ; Packed with mystery and conspiracy ; Zipping through the Bayou's treeline

Looks rough compared to consoles - and it invites the comparison ; The three hubs aren't as big as Rome, Venice or Boston

Assassin's Creed III

Me? No Governor, he must have stabbed himself repeatedly while eating his dinner. Tricky things, those forks.

So what is the verdict? It's fantastic, and filled with excitement. "Fantastic" that such a good title has been part of the initial release, and the "excitement" comes from seeing the obvious graphical potential inside the machine, waiting to be...

Assassin's Creed III (Wii U) Review

The white robes of the assassin's descend on the Wii U with their own tablet tapping edition of Assassin's Creed III.

Wii U version performs just as good as the other two consoles ; While not groundbreaking, the second screen is a nice little bonus ; Game feels comfortable while being played with the default controller ; One disc, sorry Xbox 360 owners

Coming in a little late to the party. Most Assassin fans have already tried it ; No overly huge bonus to picking the Wii U version over the others

"Assassin's Creed III" is a great game, and now that you know the Wii U edition doesn't have any unforeseen “hiccups” you can feel confident in picking "Assassin's" up for any console. While the Wii U controller is a slight aid, it's not enough to sway...
