Homido is a universal virtual reality headset for smartphones (hands-on)

There's a lot of talk about VR at the moment, from the cheapest of the cheap - Google Cardboard - to the premium experience like HTC Vive or Oculus Rift .

Homido

When we refer to virtual reality, it's likely that Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Project Morpheus are first to spring to mind. At a push the Samsung Gear VR might even enter your thoughts. One device we're pretty sure that you won't recall is the Homido.

Robust design ; Compatible with a variety of devices ; Comfortable

Limited game/app selection ; No interaction options ; Expensive

It’s a good VR effort, but the inflated price and lack of input button make the Homido a one trick pony. You can only be a bystander in VR for so long.

Homido VR headset review

VR headsets are coming into their own thanks to the likes of the Oculus Rift and Sony's Project Morpheus, but a hefty price tag makes plenty of them out of reach for your average joe. The Homido VR headset is here to help change that, promising tip-top...

VR is in at the moment, and with the rising size of smartphones, it makes sense to use your mobile as the screen to immerse yourself into a virtual road you can interact with. There's no shortage of headsets for your mobile though, including Google's...

A VR headset is only as strong as its software, and the Homido VR headset is let down in this regard. The Homido app is nothing special, and it only links to compatible apps in the Google Play or Apple App Store, those of which you'd find with a quick...

The Homido VR headset is a great pick if you want to use your phone to dive into the world of virtual reality, with a top-notch field of view, great build quality and compatibility with plenty of phones - we just wish that the Homido app had more to...

Homido VR headset review

The Homido VR provides a low cost intro into smartphone-based virtual reality -- and it's more convenient than Google Cardboard.

Get past this, and the Homido gives a solid introduction to the world of virtual reality video and gaming. It’s also a cheap intro, at 70 euros, or $80. Cardboard sets may cost less, but needs to be held up to your face, and doesn’t come with any extra...

Homido Mini glasses review: Pseudo VR you can tuck in your pocket

It's taken some time to get here, but 2016 just may be the year that virtual reality finally hits its stride. It feels so long ago that the Oculus Rift first hit Kickstarter, sparking endeavor and imagination from consumers, companies, and developers....

proved to be too thin. In cases like that, a smartphone case may need to be added for the Homido Mini to grip without assistance. The clip opening is wide enough to accommodate many slim cases, although this can lead to the Homido Mini not resting...

Homido VR Headset is a big plastic step above Google Cardboard

There's disposable VR containers, and then there's stuff you want to actually last.

Homido Mini Is a Cheap VR Headset That's Even Simpler Than the Google Cardboard

The Homido Mini lives up to the 'Mini' in its name with a very portable and easy to use device that lets you carry a VR headset in your pocket. That's not to say that it's perfect - it lets light in, lacks any means of going hands-free, and has the...
