Absolutely Stunning

Bought this TV a week ago and WOW. Everything from the design to the picture quality is amazing. The first thing i did was play Transformers on Blu Ray to play about and tweak the settings to my liking, the quality of the picture running at 1080p and...

Sharp Aquos LC-42XL2E 42in LCD TV

By John Archer (trustedreviews.com)

If you're in the market for a pretty-looking HD television, the 42XL2E is worth checking out.

If you're in the market for a pretty-looking HD telly, the 42XL2E is worth checking out, as it's one of the best LCD TVs around when the source quality is high. But its weak audio and average standard definition efforts make it a trickier...

Sharp LC46XL2E

By (techradar.com)

The LC46LX2E might not be quite perfect, but it certainly is a mighty fine HD monitor

Well-connnected ; Bright pictures ; Great HD performance ; Strong black levels

Poor SD performance ; Some motion smearing

Finally in the plus column, colours are vibrant and bright. But, it also has to be said that occasionally colours aren't completely natural in tone: some skin tones end up looking a bit over-ripe

Sharp LC-46XL2E 46in LCD TV

By John Archer (trustedreviews.com)

Sharp's second attempt at 100Hz processing is a vast improvement.

As an HD monitor for, say, a dedicated home cinema room, the 46LX2E is a stunning option. Especially given that it seems an absolute steal with its sub £1200 price tag. But if you're looking for a more all-round set that's as happy with standard def as...

Sharp Aquos LC46XL2E review

By Ian Morris (cnet.co.uk)

The Sharp Aquos LC46XL2E is an attractive TV with good range of features. Unfortunately, HD picture quality isn't perfect and we think it's a little too expensive compared to other screens in its category

Design ; Remote ; Menus ; Sound quality ; Ease of use ; Freeview quality

HD picture is a little soft ; Colour is hard to set up properly ; Some motion judder ; Expensive

Still, the Sharp doesn't perform as well as we would have liked on HD material, although it is curiously competent with Freeview material. Its slick design and ease of use might well make it a good choice for someone who doesn't have any real interest...

Sharp LC-46XL2E

By (whathifi.com)

If looks and specs were all that mattered, Sharp would be on to a winner, but sadly performance isn't up to the same standard

Slim and trim design ; excellent spec ; natural colours ; detailed HD images

Softness to edges ; lacks black definition and overall solidity to colours ; weak sound

It's going to take more than this for Sharp to win back ground from the new LCD kings

Full HD specs ; 24fps, 100Hz ; lightweight and slimline

Fails to overcome typical LCD flaws

Sharp Aquos LC-52XL2E HD LCD TV Review

By Doug Harman (best4reviews.com)

Our latest Sharp LCD HD TV review features the company's 52-inch, high-end XL2E 1080p model and now means Best4Reviews has completed testing the current range of Sharp's LCD TVs. The question is of course, is it any good?

Easy to use and set up, Excellent picture quality, Great connectivity, Good Remote Control, and volume without distortion

Built-in speakers quite tinny, Picture flicker in isolated high contrast areas during fast action displaying upscaled/standard definition sources

The LC-52XL2E is a cracker, the sheer quality of the picture and the slim-line design and good build are readily apparent.Even though the built-in speakers may leave something to be desired, you’ll probably plug in a separate surround system for full...

Otherwise, there’s little missing from this TV in terms of kit and connections, which means if you want a big screen TV and have budget enough to buy into it with this set, it should be very high on your list indeed.

Sharp LC-42XL2E

By John Archer (avreview.co.uk)

Unfortunately it doesn't match up to the Philips model in overall performance terms either.

HD images save the day, decent black levels, neat design, 100Hz works pretty well

Standard def performance only average, sound rather weak, a touch expensive all things considered

Sharp LC-46XL2E

By John Archer (avreview.co.uk)

It gets off on the right foot, at least, by looking rather lovely thanks to the way a smoked glass cover has been placed over the normal black bezel. It's well connected too, with three HDMIs, a PC port and a digital audio output among the highlights.

Impressive HD performer, much improved 100Hz, great looker, good connectivity

Numerous standard def problems
