Samsung PS51D8000 review

Samsung's flagship plasma TV represents a delicious compromise. It's got the second best online dimension, after Sony's Bravia Internet Video platform, which is too often strapped to TVs with lacklustre 3D pictures. And the second best 3D performance,...

Smart Hub, 3D, Explore 3D app, Freeview HD, Freesat HD, record-to-USB

Smart Hub can be slow, panel lacks contrast, 3D glasses not included

It's a shame 3D is an optional extra here, but we love the picture quality and this is a solid performer when it comes to apps and the little extras.

Samsung UE46C8000 3D television

Add a third dimension with Samsung's feature-packed TV

Mind-boggling range of features, stunning design, picture quality

Although it’s expensive and 3D has a few teething troubles, the UE46C8000 is something special. 3D is just one of many reasons to recommend it - the amount of other features is staggering and if you can find a better looking TV we'll eat our 3D glasses.

Samsung PS64D8000 3DTV review

For a cinematic, bigscreen viewing experience a giant plasma is hard to beat. The technology has always had its fans, not least because it's simply more cinematic than LED LCD TVs. But if you're on the hunt for a big PDP, one brand that might not...

Crisp, dynamic Full HD images; vibrant 3D; expansive Smart Hub proposition; beautiful to look at; good screen burn provision

Horizontal and vertical image judder; Social Media apps require separate Samsung account

Samsung PS51D8000 review

Stylish looks, top-notch picture performance, great Internet features and strong handling of 3D material make the Samsung PS51D8000 a hugely impressive TV. If you're looking for a big screen with 3D-capable plasma, you'd be crazier than a box of frogs...

Sharp HD pictures ; Impressive 3D performance ; Warm and natural colour tones ; Good sound quality ; Great Internet features

Black levels could be a tad deeper ; 3D performance isn't as good as Panasonic's plasma models

The PS51D8000 is a hugely impressive set and runs Panasonic's highly-rated GT30 close. In fact, there's very little to separate the two.

Samsung UE60D8000 review

It looks a million dollars, and almost costs as much too, but the Samsung UE60D8000 produces extremely punchy pictures and has a stunning line-up of features. It's marred slightly by inconsistent backlighting and some 3D crosstalk.

Bright, vibrant images ; Good sound quality ; Gorgeous design ; Great Internet features

Crosstalk in 3D images ; Inconsistent backlight

Samsung really has done a great job of making the UE60D8000 look supremely stylish, to appeal to the premium buyer. It boasts excellent Internet features and media streaming capabilities. For the most part, its pictures are top notch too....

Samsung UE46D8000

The UE46D8000 is a stunningly designed, heavily featured and high performance TV only really let down by some 3D crosstalk.

Stunning design ; Exceptional brightness and colour ; Extensive multimedia features

Needs care with set up ; crosstalk with 3D ; Minor backlight bleed even after calibration

While the UE46D8000 isn?t without its problems ? its 3D crosstalk, its average sonics, its minor backlight inconsistencies, its over-aggressive presets and the fact that it costs ?100 than the identically specified but slightly less glamorous looking...

Samsung UE60D8000

Its astounding design seems to defy the laws of physics, and at times its pictures are stunning. But there are niggles if you look for them...

Jaw-dropping design ; Phenomenal brightness and colour ; Excellent multimedia features

Backlight inconsistencies ; Limited viewing angle ; Some crosstalk with 3D

Samsung’s UE60D8000 is possibly the most lust-inducing TV we’ve ever seen. And for much of the time it’s a barnstorming performer, too. We can't ultimately give it a whole-hearted recommendation, though, due to its twin problems of an inconsistent...

Samsung LED 8000 review

With an incredibly thin silver metallic bezel and chrome-effect stand, Samsung's 8000 55in Smart 3D LED TV is a stunning looking piece of kit - we couldn't wait to find out if the 55in LED-backlit set would have picture quality to match its looks.

It oozes style, but some problems with image quality and poor internet TV functions prevent the 8000 from becoming a showstopper.

Samsung LED 8000 UE46C8000 review

A 46in 3D TV that's been around for a while, age doesn't appear to have withered the Samsung LED 8000 UE46C8000.

At 46 inches, the Samsung LED 8000 UE46C8000 is large enough to be spectacular, but not so ridiculously oversized that it'll dominate your living room. The price is good given the wealth of features, and the overall quality is very good, with the...
