Samsung PS-B450 Series Plasma TV (42", 46", 50") (TVs)

I bought my Samsung PS42B450 plasma at what I thought was a cheap price $1069, I did no expect to get a cheap quality product. But alas I did. I bought it on November the 3rd 2009, on February 5th 2010 it stoped working with a POP. I did not get any one to come and look at my TV until the 10th and for all I went to length to explain the model type and my presumed problem they did not come prepared. As I expected it was the power supply (Converts the 240V power to lower voltages that the printed circuitry can handle). I was informed by the service technician that this is a common problem, especially when temperatures are high. Melbourne weather for that day was low at 20.9 C. he told me he would have to order one and would come back later. Unfortunately a week later from the service mans call I have heard nothing from them. We have to stand back and look at other aspects of this TV, yes there was a lot of other good things, picture quality (high priority) was great, setup was so easy I could have been blonde. Other negatives were that the instruction book could have been better (wrote in Koringlish) and the remote looks basic & cheap. Ultimately I see it that if you want Quality - pay the extra bucks. Buy a Kia Carnival or a Samsung TV you can expect them to break down some time in their life. Buy a Toyota or a Panasonic, you can expect them to live a healthy life and retire out moded. Gary Gale
