Picture quality is of paramount importance when choosing a TV, so does this 58in Panasonic plasma succeed on that front?
The P58V10 may only be a solid standard definition performer, but it goes without saying that a screen of such magnitude simply cries out to be fed a diet as rich in high definition content as possible. And with HD, its performance truly is imperious -...

With Pioneer on the verge of disappearing from the UK TV scene, it's a real relief to find a set like the fantastic Panasonic Viera TX-P58V10. It proves that, even after the death of Pioneer tellies, movie buffs will still be able to get their hands on...
Awesome high-definition picture quality ; Plenty of connections ; Excellent motion processing
Some slight colour-tone issues with standard-definition material ; A few hundred quid off the price would be good
Conclusion Pioneer's similarly priced, 60-inch Kuro PDP-LX6090 is marginally better than the Panasonic Viera TX-P58V10. But, with the PDP-LX6090 already hard to find in stores and set to disappear completely at any moment, the TX-P58V10 is a hugely...

The 40-42in screen customer is spoiled for choice; here's another worth consideration
Sturdy build ; exhaustive spec ; great TV reception, good DVD upscaling ; chunky sound
Less impressive Blu-ray pictures ; warm colour balance ; screen reflections

Making it the best choice in the plasma arena is the TX-P42V10E's fine balance of picture quality, functionality and up-to-date technology, and of course a competitve price. This display offers a really enjoyable cinema-like experience, with excellent...
It can give you real Full HD pictures from terrestrial broadcasts, thanks to its MPEG4-compatible tuner, while an HD satellite tuner is included too. And it can keep you 'connected' with VieraCast, bringing the Internet directly to the display through...

The V10 has already received good reviews and recommendations from several respected publications, although its relatively short time on the market means that more praise is likely to be coming its way in the future. As with all VIERA devices produced...

When we heard in February that Panasonic was finally introducing THX certification to some of their Plasma TVs in Europe, we were enthusiastic to see what effect THX's guidance would have on the picture quality potential of these screens. Panasonic's...
Very deep, satisfying black level thanks to NeoPDP panel, One of few displays with its own free-to-air satellite ("Freesat") tuner, THX mode results in very good Greyscale performance..., ...and very good Colour performance, for a preset mode,...
Panasonic's usual lack of calibration-friendliness: not a huge problem on this individual unit (post-calibration performance was excellent regardless), but perhaps an issue on others, Video processing could still be improved (cadence detection is...
Excellent
THX's quality checks and feedback added to these core strengths and brought greater levels of accuracy, and ultimately, quality, to select Panasonic Plasma displays

Not perfect, but nevertheless one of the best 42in plasmas money can buy ..
Black levels
Colour accuracy
Panasonic's TX-P42V10 is a hugely capable and well equipped flat screen TV. Although we are a little disappointed that we have still not (quite) found a screen to topple Pioneer's now legendary 'Kuro' range, this is one of the best 42in TV's money can...

Very deep blacks and excellent contrast ; Incredible image quality ; Viera Cast, IFCP, DivX on SD ; Good sound ; Viewing angles
Glossy panel can be affected by reflections
Quite simply, the image produced by the V10 is excellent. Any Home Cinema fan is certain to make an excellent choice with this TV.
Cinema mode is generally the one we use. Wherever possible, we set the white levels at 200 cd/m².

The Panasonic TX-P42V10 HDTV comes from their Viera V10 plasma range, which – like the G10 series we tested recently – boasts a NeoPDP panel, built-in Freesat tuner, and 600Hz Sub-field Drive Intelligent Frame Creation Pro. On top of these...
At this point, we guess the question on every video enthusiast’s mind is, “Can it dethrone the Pioneer 9G Kuro plasma as the best flat-panel HDTV we’ve tested to date?” We're afraid not: the Panasonic TX-P42V10 ran the Pioneer Kuros really close (in...

In the past, I've been really, really happy with Panasonic's entry-level TVs. Why mention this in a review of the higher-end V10 series, though? Because I've often found that there's not been a lot of variation in terms of meaningful features when we...
NeoPDP contrast performance and black level are excellent, Extensive connectivity options (Digital Terrestrial, Digital Satellite, Analogue Terrestrial, HDMI...), THX mode results in absolutely brilliant Greyscale performance..., ...and very, very,...
The lack of calibration controls is silly on a TV of this level (and of this price!): cheap LCDs sometimes have more control, UK version is inferior to continental European versions in this regard - whatever the reason behind it, this is UNFAIR, Gamma...
Excellent
That's something of a back-handed compliment - what I mean is, where it really counts, all of the Panasonic plasmas could be described as "great" at the very least

To rate this television as anything other than 5 stars is impossible. Providing some of the highest quality picture available with amazing deep colour
Overall a good TV
I admit I did not buy my TV from Play.com however thought I would submit a review to encourage any potential buyers to purchase it from Play.com.
UK Model Has Fewer Options
A great panel and an all round improvement on last year's impressive models with even less image retention. BUT the advanced colour management options
