I gave this product a 9 out of 10, however, when you consider what you get for your money it is more like 10 out of 10 ; Good connectivity although I have a feeling the Ethernet connection will never see a day when it can stream iplayer ; I would more...
Plastic surround gets marked very easy if you are not too careful and as a result in certain light the surround looks a bit dull. Sound is not that great but if you have gone this far on the purchase of a plasma you should be looking at a decent cinema...

picture quality is excellent, sound quality is ok but when played through surround system really is excellent
when watching certain programs the back ground seams to be out of focus.the worst thing is when watching football and the ball is kicked into the air it seams to blend in with the crowd and you loose sight of it

Panasonic has introduced the World's first flat panel TV with a built-in Freesat tuner and it's a cracker. The 46-inch model we had to test has Full HD 1080P resolution, though its blocky black lines aren't the most stylish on offer today, it is a...
Easy to use and set-up, fantastic picture quality, good connectivity, good built-in audio, Freesat
Distractingly reflective screen surface, no record to SD card, only HD playback, reds a little flat
The World's first flat panel plasma set with built-in Freesat, Freeview and analogue tuners, the TH-46PZ81B delivers on all levels and is a superb TV, well worth a closer look for those wanting a top notch TV with free high-definition as standard
Another problem I noticed due to the sheer excellence of the 46PZ81B is the quality of some of the standard-definition channels, some such as ITV are of such poor quality even the V-Real 3 processing struggles to cope, even so it's still an overall...

Teaming Freesat HD with a big Full HD picture, this top-spec Panasonic is a bargain way to watch hi-def broadcasting
A top-notch TV in its own right, but the Freesat HD tuner seals its appeal. Big, beautiful and pretty good value, too

With most of the hardware support for freesat coming from predominantly budget brands such as Bush, the new digital platform sorely needs some proper heavyweight action. This stunning TV from Panasonic fits the bill perfectly, giving us freesat in its...
Typically outstanding Panasonic plasma picture quality ; Freesat tuner works a treat ; Easy to use ; Decent value
Freesat's limited HD content ; Weaknesses in some freesat broadcasts
Conclusion Coupling yet another fine example of Panasonic plasma TV picture quality with the cutting edge attraction of a built-in HD broadcast tuner has made the 46PZ81 a genuine landmark product. Here's hoping that freesat can ultimately deliver the...

From preview to review, the first UK TV with integrated Freesat tuner gets the once over from John.
Although it's a shame for the 46PZ81 that the Freesat service doesn't currently carry a bit more high definition content to make the most of its screen's Full HD resolution, that's hardly the TV's fault. In fact, there's very little that IS the TV's...
It's yet another terrific Panasonic plasma TV that works impressively hard at getting the best from its groundbreaking new source - while also costing considerably less than you might have expected.

With the Freesat launch only a couple of weeks old, Panasonic already has the service integrated into its TVs.
Panasonic's PZ81 Freesat enabled range will launch in 42 and 46in sizes in June, with a 50in model shipping in July - it was the 46in TH-46PZ81 that I got my paws on. First impressions of the set are very good, which is unsurprising considering that...
The glossy black bezel from last year's models has been carried over, but the design looks even more sleek this time around. The speakers are mounted below the screen to keep dimensions to a minimum, but the speaker grille is curved rather than flat -...

Make no mistake this is a top-notch TV in its own right, but the inclusion of the Freesat HD tuner is the all-important icing on this cake
Integrated Freesat HD tuner ; impressive off-air HD images ; colourful, vibrant video, with realistic black levels
Average sound ; doesn't have the sharpness of some rivals
By (whathifi.com)
Panasonic's Freesat HD sets still offer a unique proposition, but it ultimately falls short of delivering a complete, quality all-rounder
Freesat HD TV ; HD off-air content looks great ; strong Freeview tuner ; solid sound ; pleasing, natural colour balance
Standard-def Freesat content is a little soft ; video images haven't quite got the all-round sparkle

Panasonic's latest plasma TV boasts not one, not two, but three TV technology firsts.
Within the Freesat service you can currently find nearly 80 channels, around 50 of which are TV (as opposed to radio) channels. The 46PZ81 can, of course, receive every last one of these channels, including the two HD offerings: BBC HD and ITV HD

Want HD but don’t fancy a pricey Sky subscription? This gorgeous 46-inch Full HD plasma is the first TV to come with Freesat built in – just hook up a dish and you can snatch 1080 broadcasts from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 from space, all for nowt!...
Yes, the 46PZ81 costs more than a weekend in a swanky hotel with champagne on tap and a close personal friend, but will that friend give you a 180-degree viewing angle and a choice of top quality input and output ports? Wait a second, that came out wrong
The rumours of the death of plasma have been greatly exaggerated – this stunning 1080p TV couldn’t be more future-proofed if it ran on biodiesel made from recycled iPods.

Performs well in all areas for such a large screen, just off the pace of the best ..
Integrated 'Freesat' tuner and fine overall performance create an interesting proposition. With intense competition from Plasma and LCD rivals however we feel that the figures don't quite add up. Those looking for the convenience of an integrated...

"freesat" is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmers. With PZ81 series with freesat built-in, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colors, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.Intelligent frame creation achieves excellent moving picture resolution and flicker-less images. With 50Hz video signal input, the intelligent frame creation achieves high moving picture resolution even in fast-motion scenes. This function makes new frame that was calculated by speed and direction of motion. It allows natural frame-to-frame transitions to occur for smooth motion images with high resolution.Every image is richly expressive from bright scenes, such as scorching desert landscapes, to dark cave scenes. Contrast is enhanced by the real black drive system (a pre-discharge control system) and a higher base luminance from improvements made during panel production process. The high contrast creates deep, robust blacks and reproduces scenes with a delicate balance of light and shadow.5,120 equivalent steps of gradation lends natural expression to images such as sunsets. VIERA's large color space covers 110% of the HDTV color standard. This wide gamut has been achieved by an advanced panel structure and a newly developed filter, which produce richer, more vivid coloring.VIERA Link lets you operate other connected Panasonic AV components using only the VIERA TV's remote control unit. You can view a slideshow of your photos on VIERA's big beautiful screen just by simply remove the SD memory card from your digital still camera, and slip it in to the slot. You can also enjoy full-HD (1920 x 1080) video clips recorded with an HD camcorder will fill the large TV screen.
