LG 42PQ6000 42in Plasma TV

By John Archer (trustedreviews.com)

The LG 42PQ6000 42in plasma TV is yours for under £500 - that's got to be a bargain, right?

Arch bargain hunters that we are, we really wanted to love the 42PQ6000. But while in typical LG fashion it delivers more than enough goods on paper, the reality of its pictures is actually very disappointing.

LG 42PQ6000 review

By Ian Morris (cnet.co.uk)

The LG 42PQ6000's performance with high-definition content won't blow you away. That's not to say it's bad -- it's just that the lack of 1080p resolution means Blu-ray movies don't have the impact they could have. But we still utterly love this TV. The...

Attractive styling ; Good picture quality ; Beautiful menus ; Easy to use ; Excellent sound

For the price, there's not much to moan about

Competition comes in the form of Panasonic's 720p plasma TVs, but they tend to be slightly more expensive. They also don't have the same beautiful menu system as the 42PQ6000, and are generally more basic in terms of features

The 42PQ6000 is a real winner and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

By avforums (avforums.com)

The industry is awash with Full HD 1920x1080 Plasma and LCD displays, but at the lower end of the market, there are still some 720p-ish resolution panels to be found. LG's 42PQ6000 is one such TV: it's a Plasma display with a 1024x768 panel resolution,...

Industry leading calibration controls, Picture quality (especially Colour) improves substantially with calibration, SD video processing is serviceable, Sleek, impressive design, with scratch-proof gloss black, Downconversion of 1080p input to match the...

Black level performance isn't great, More PWM noise than most other Plasma displays, Temporary image retention may annoy some people, Slight input lag hampers video game performance slightly
