LG OLED55C7V review: Big league picture quality without the big league price tag

Infinite contrast thanks to true blacks ; Wide viewing angles ; Rich, natural colours ; Superb gaming responsiveness

Trouble handling interlaced video ; Less bright than high-end LED LCDs for HDR

LG OLED55C7V

The LG C7 most affordable OLED model from LG's 2017 range, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's any less good than its more expensive siblings.

The LG OLED55C7V delivers some of the best picture quality you'll see all year.

LG OLED C7 review: one of the best TVs money can buy and a fantastic showcase for OLED, 4K and HDR

Still one of the best TVs money can buy, and the 55-inch version is now quite affordable by OLED standards, too

Amazing dynamic range ; Affordable for OLED, now it's a bit older

Dolby Vision brings a few issues ; Needs careful brightness wrangling at times ; A year on, it's no longer right at the TV cutting edge

LG OLED C7 (OLED55C7) review

Stunning pictures at an affordable price puts OLED back on top

Stunning contrast-rich pictures ; Gorgeous ultra-thin design ; Excellent operating system ; Good value for OLED

Occasional noise issues ; Lacks brightness vs LCD ; Limited color volume ; More expensive than LCD

Delivering better brightness and light control than last year’s C6, the LG OLED C7 is a high dynamic range performer that doesn't sacrifice OLED’s class-leading standard dynamic range capabilities. It delivers its new picture thrills at a price that...

LG OLED55C7V review

The C7 is equally as appealing as its more widely available B7 sibling

Awesome OLED picture quality, with added brightness ; Natural picture ; Supports all HDR formats ; Neat, unfussy design ; Great for gaming

The Sony A1 is a punchier performer

There’s no reason to buy the C7 over the B7, there’s no reason not to – but do also consider the Sony KD-55A1

LG OLED55C7V (C7 OLED) review: A truly stunning OLED TV for only £1,799

LG's OLED55C7V is vanishingly different to its B7V stablemate, but the picture performance is just as perfect

Stunning contrast ; True blacks ; Amazing gaming experience ; Class-leading HDR format support

Interlace artefacts on 50Hz video ; No Dolby Atmos sound from 4K Blu-rays

Ultimately there’s very, very little difference between LG’s OLED55C7V and the OLED55B7V, but if we had to choose, we’d go for the C7. Why? Simple. Because in addition to the stupendous image quality, superb sound and cracking gaming performance, the...

LG OLED55C7V review

The most affordable of LG's 2017 OLEDs doesn't disappoint

The same, awesome picture as the rest of the range but a bit cheaper ; Simple, minimalist design ; Sound is actually better than expected

You’ll still want a separate sound system ; The Sony A1 provides an even better picture

The most affordable 2017 LG OLED is the pick of the bunch for most people - but also consider the Sony A1

LG C7 Series (OLED55C7P) review

Simply put, you can't buy a better TV in 2017 than LG's C7 OLED.

Best picture quality ever ; Outstanding HDR performance ; A joy to use ; Beautifully designed

OLED remains expensive

Subtle improvements LG made to its OLED line for 2017 were significant enough to get us just that much more excited for OLED TVs, and the LG C7 OLED is the best choice of the crop. Simply put, you can’t buy a better TV in 2017.

LG OLEDC7P review: This spectacular TV has an even cheaper compeditor

LG's C7 has the best picture quality we've ever tested, and costs less than any other 2017 OLED TV but one.

The LG C7 is tied with other 2017 OLEDs as the best performing TV we've tested to date. It delivers perfect black levels, wide viewing angles, accurate color and a great bright-room picture. It's compatible with both major HDR formats, and HDR image...

The less expensive LG OLEDB7A has the same image quality.

The LG C7 is the best overall TV we've ever tested, but the nearly identical B7A is a superior value.
