LG 52LG5000

High-def gaming looks visuall stunning on LG's behemoth LCD TV

Excellent Full HD pictures with decent depth ; Good connectivity ; Great stereo audio performance

Blacks could be deeper

Naturally, CGI-animation is a good fit for Full HD, and I'm yet to meet somebody who hasn't been wowed by a computer-rendered cartoon played at 1080p through any set

LG 32LG5000

We found this pretty LCD TV extremely easy to use

Easy to use ; Vibrant, rich pictures ; Competitive price

Not Full HD ; Motion smearing ; Poor black levels

Sonically, the set is surprisingly good considering it has no visible speakers, combining expansive soundstage dynamics with some solid bass. Some effects can sound too dislocated from the screen, mind

LG 32LH5000 review

LG has worked its usual magic with the 32LH5000, in that it delivers a fearsome on-paper specification for a relatively inexpensive price. But, while the set sports useful features galore, a couple of key failings stop it from hitting the performance...

Great price for its specification ; Loads of features and connections ; Good control of motion blur ; Very bright for a 32-inch screen

Black levels need work ; High-definition images could be sharper ; Limited viewing angle ; Occasionally muted colours during dark scenes

Conclusion Multimedia hounds and bargain hunters will find much to like in the LG 32LH5000, and we've got to admire LG for the ambition it's displayed with a 32-inch set. But, in the end, the TV comes up just slightly too short in the performance...

Stuff magazine

A price drop from £1000 to £750 sees this high-spec LG set switch from ‘premium' to ‘affordable' territory. And that, surely, can only be good news... right?

Not all LGs are born equal, but this one proves the company can churn out a real stunner when it wants to

LG 32LH5000 32in LCD TV

The LG 32LH5000 32in LCD TV has some great features for its money, but how well does it perform?

The 32LH5000 carries some great features for its money - especially the DivX HD playback - and goes out of its way to be user-friendly and look great in your living room. The set has a game stab at seeing off some of LCD's traditional image flaws, too.

LG 42LH5000 42in LCD TV

LG delivers 200Hz processing with its 42LH5000 LCD TV and does so rather well.

LG might not have got everything right with the 42LH5000 - there's definitely room for improvement in the black level and viewing angle departments. But it's got to grips with 200Hz surprisingly albeit not perfectly well for a first try, and in doing...

LG 37LG5000 review

The LG 37LG5000 is a native 1080p TV with a 37in viewable area, and at just over £500 is an absolute bargain.

LG 52LG5000 review

While we appreciate LG's efforts in making a 52-inch LCD TV available for just £1,350, it's a pity that -- perhaps inevitably -- you have to swallow a few performance compromises along the way. Whether you can live with these compromises is pretty much...

Size ; Well designed ; Bright and colourful pictures

Black levels aren't grea ; Viewing angle is rather limited ; Some colour tones are slightly strange

Conclusion If money is no object, the 52LG5000's various performance issues provide plenty of reasons for looking elsewhere for your big-screen thrills. However, even at their worst, this very affordable LG's pictures are never terrible. And with HD...

LG 52LG5000 52in LCD TV

We weren't hugely impressed with the 32in and 42in LG5000 models, so can the 52in one do any better?

The 52LG5000 isn't anything like the horror show we'd feared it might be after spending time with its much smaller sibling. In fact, with the right sort of bright, colourful, relatively static HD footage, its pictures can look very appealing indeed -...

LG 32LG5000 review

A good TV -- it's not going to set the world alight with its special features, but it does offer sturdy picture performance alongside great sound. It's perfect for people looking for a simple TV that's both easy to use and able to display video from a...

Bad out-of-the-box image settings need tweaking by user

Once we'd finished tweaking, we settled down to watch some daytime TV. We would suggest that you don't attempt to adjust the picture settings when David Dickinson is on -- his luminous skin tone isn't the most natural, and can cause you to incorrectly...

LG TruMotion 200Hz uses a unique scanning backlight technology to achieve a more superior natural picture. The benefit of this feature is that it virtually eliminates motion blur and picture flicker, making the TV perfect for watching sport and fast action movies.
