Tesco Hudl

Given that the supermarket giant hasn't exactly been renowned for its tech innovation up to now, the Tesco Hudl has taken us a little by surprise. Tesco has stamped its name on the budget tablet market with the release of the Hudl, its very first...

Good value for money ; Micro SD card support ; Really useful startup guide

Slightly sluggish performance ; Poor cameras ; Some screen quality issues

The Hudl is a bit of a revelation, but only the price will wow you

Great price ; Sharp display ; Ample storage ; Stock OS

Tesco apps mostly pointless ; Appalling camera ; Mediocre speed ; Takes an age to charge

It took a while for Android tablets to really take off, but the combination of a solid OS and capable-yet-cheap hardware has led to success for the Google Nexus 7, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD and others.

Can a Tesco tablet really be any good?

Sturdy design ; Tesco apps ; Dual-Band WiFi

Tinny speakers ; Poor screen ; Small memory

Tesco Hudl

A superb budget tablet that, while not flawless, shows some of its pricier competition how it's done

Sharp screen ; Snappy processor ; Expandable memory ; Stock Android ; Well-priced

Screen could be brighter ; Design is on the chunky side ; Poor camera ; Contrast could be better

However, many shortcomings are easier to swallow at this price, and for the average user the Tesco Hudl tablet will prove itself to be a great multimedia tablet. It covers the basics and then some, and it does them well.

Tesco Hudl review

Tesco is already a part of the fabric of life in the UK. We'd wager that everyone reading this has been to a Tesco store in the last couple of weeks, even if "just by accident". And now it's set to be even more part of life with the introduction of...

Price point and Clubcard Boost scheme really sells it, microSD card slot for storage expansion, more than capable for majority of tasks, Wi-Fi connectivity, full Android tablet (not just Tesco), Tesco service tie-ins of use

Nexus 7 is an all-round better device, poor sound quality, fingerprints prominent on screen, touch-screen typing had one or two sluggish glitches, Wi-Fi only, chunkier than the competition, do you want Tesco integrated into life?

We've got a lot of love for the Hudl. Considering this is a supermarket-produced product that doesn't involve fruit and veg it does a damn fine job of pretty much anything you'd care to throw at it. Just not tomatoes, don't throw those.

Tesco's Hudl tablet is fairly basic, but there's no denying its value

Tesco Hudl review

You could say that the majority of people looking to buy a tablet want an iPad, but at the same time the majority of people can't justify spending £399 or more on one. The next step taken is to find out what is the best tablet they can afford. At £119...

The Tesco Hudl is a budget tablet with a nice design and good build quality. Key specifications are better than the price tag suggests such as the processor and good quality 7 in screen. A microSD card slot and Micro-HDMI port are two reasons to opt...

Argos MyTablet vs Tesco Hudl comparison review

Just weeks after Tesco launched the low-cost and arguably high-performing Hudl tablet, Argos has come out with its own: the MyTablet. Read our Argos MyTablet vs Tesco Hudl comparison review to see how the two of the least expensive tablets on the...

The MyTablet might seem like a tempting buy at £99.99, but you'll get more bang for your buck from Tesco's Hudl thanks to its superior screen and processor.

Tesco Hudl video review - why wouldn't you buy Tesco's cheap Android tablet?

Tesco has launched its very own tablet called the Hudl and it's aimed at all of you out there who don't yet have one. And that's why the Tesco Hudl tablet is priced at just £119, undercutting Google's Nexus 7 by £80.

Tesco Hudl Review: In Depth

If someone told you that Tesco was releasing an Android tablet, you'd be forgiven for thinking that it'd be as useful for checking emails as the can of beans you'd pick up alongside it during the…
