LG G Pad X 8.0 review: This 4G LTE tablet only costs $50, but there's a catch

The LG G Pad X 8.0 costs only $50 through AT&T -- with a two-year contract.

The LG G Pad X 8.0 only costs $50 with a two-year AT&T service contract. It has a lightweight and portable design, sharp screen and full-size USB port. The built-in IR blaster lets you use it as a remote control.

The $50 price tag is half the story. You still have to pay extra for monthly cellular service.

Skip the LG G Pad X 8.0 if the thought of a tablet two-year contract seems ludicrous, but if you're cool with a commitment, a $50 initial buy-in can't really be beat.

LG G Pad X 8.0

Why buy the LG G Pad X 8.0 instead of the Amazon Fire? Because it has a full USB port to connect a flash drive, an IR blaster to use it as remote control, access to all of the apps in the Google Play store (Fire tablets have Amazon's curated app store...

LG G Pad X 8.0 review: This 4G LTE tablet only costs $50, but there's a catch

Guess what! You can actually buy a decent tablet for only $50. Aside from the $50 Amazon Fire, there's the LG G Pad X 8.0. The catch with the LG? It's only offered for $50 with a two-year AT&T contract. Otherwise, it costs $250 retail, which, in my...

Too difficult

Too many hoops to jump through to get any apps working. Dropped it and it broke.

short life span

Got this tablet when I got my LG G3 phone about a year and a half ago. I love the phone but the tablet started glitching on me at about 1 year. I have done the factory restore, and everything else suggested but it is still dead. Battery says full for...

Ok for money.

I bought this a month ago. Its ok. The location of the buttons suck because you accidently hit them when holding vertically. A good case is hard to find for it. Performance is good battery is ok as long as your on WiFi on network it drains faster. WiFi...
