Asus Eee Pad Slider review

It's not much of an exaggeration to say that the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is one of our favourite Android tablets of all time. In fact, it's pretty reasonable to argue that the Transformer is the best Android tablet on the market.

Lovely screen, a decent PC replacement, USB port, good battery life

Almost the same cost as a laptop, weight and size, lack of Honeycomb apps

The Eee Pad Slider is a fantastic device. If you can live with the weight, then it's got plenty to offer, including doing all the jobs your netbook currently performs.

Asus Eee Pad Slider SL101

We were totally taken by the Eee Pad Transformer when it came out because it did something different to the iPad, and so gave itself room to breathe away from the tablet big guns.

Glorious screen ; Keyboard is genuinely useful ; Android at its best ; Good preloaded apps

Big and heavy ; Some may find keyboard cramped ; Battery life a little disappointing

As a tablet, this is a slightly flawed gem with a gimmick that not only makes it stand out, but makes it genuinely useful.

The slide-out keyboard is the Android-based Eee Pad Slider SL101's key feature, and it's probably the make-or-break feature if you're considering a purchase. We'd choose the Slider's Transformer stablemate, but it's nice to have the choice.
