Amazon Fire HD 10

The Amazon Fire HD 10 is the big daddy of the new low-cost Fire tablet range. Slates this large have fallen out of favour now that every company out there seems to have made a great 8-inch tablet.

Respectable speakers ; Decent battery life

Very low-res screen ; A bit slow ; Feels cheap and awkward ; Not actually that cheap

Amazon Fire HD 10 review: can Amazon’s largest tablet take the fight to the iPad?

Amazon's keen pricing means top value, but does the Fire HD 10 compromise too much to meet its price point?

Decent performance ; microSD support ; Super price

Camera is weak ; You may want more than Full HD ; Need to pay to get rid of 'offers'

Amazon Fire HD 10 review: Going big on entertainment

There are few tablets available for £149.99 and few that deliver as much as Amazon is offering in the Fire HD 10. It's definitely a tablet that

Handsfree Alexa ; Great device for browsing ; Display looks great (when you avoid the reflections) ; Price ; Excellent parental controls

Display is very reflective ; Dolby Atmos speaker branding is a little misleading ; Some flex in bodywork

The Amazon Fire HD 10 takes the experience of the smaller Fire tablets and boosts it. The size of this device is perhaps a little uncharacteristic now, as larger tablets have generally fallen from favour - unless they are made by Apple. While you don't...

Amazon Fire HD 10 review

An arid expanse of tablet

Sturdy metal skeleton ; Big display ; Decent speaker for lower-cost tablet

Very pixellated screen ; Often feels a bit slow ; Fire OS is a bit overbearing ; Feels a bit cheap

A tablet that mixes the good, the bad and the ugly. But focuses too much on the last two.

Amazon Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 8 review

Okay for Amazon's media offerings, and that's about it

Low price ; Impressive speakers ; Improved FireOS

Terrible screen resolution ; Sluggish performance ; Plasticky design

Poor performance and sub-par screen resolutions leave you questioning the purpose of these affordable tablets.

Hands on: Amazon Fire 10 HD review

Amazon tries again to make a cut-price iPad

Low cost ; Downloadable Amazon video content

Uninspiring design ; Limited interface

Amazon Fire HD 10 review

A big screen & low price, but performance and display quality leave lots to be desired – plus FireOS is still restrictive

The Fire HD 10 is one of the cheapest 10in tablets around, but with good reason. Screen quality is only average, performance is mediocre and you’re forced to use Amazon’s Fire OS. While version 5 is a definite improvement over the awful previous...

Amazon Fire HD 10 review

The Amazon Fire HD 10 is the biggest, cheapest way to get Amazon Prime perks on a tablet.

The Amazon Fire HD 10 lets Prime subscribers easily stream or download movies and TV shows in the library, as well as download games that are exclusively free for Amazon users. It houses powerful speakers and a microSD card slot for extra storage. Its...

Images aren't as sharp as on the 8-inch model. Performance is sluggish when downloading apps. Its plastic construction feels cheap.

The Amazon Fire HD 10 is satisfyingly large and loud enough for indulging in Prime digital content, however a tablet with a sharper screen can be found in the same price range.

Amazon Fire HD 10 Review: Hands-on

Amazon is filling out its tablet lineup with some new HD-screen toting mid-rangers. We went hands-on with the larger Fire HD 10.

Expandable storage ; First to run Fire OS 5 ; Responsive UI

Lacklustre screen ; A little overpriced ; Cheap aesthetics ; Fingerprint magnet

The Amazon Fire HD 10 is a mixed bag, with its design and screen being the most obvious weak points, but respectable real-world performance and an impressive software experience mean that it has a place for certain users.

Amazon's Fire HD 10 gets aluminum body, 64GB option

The top-end Fire tablet can now be had in a more luxurious metal version for the same price as the black plastic model.
