Acer Iconia W700 review

High-end 11.6-inch Windows 8 tablet

Clever dock system ; Great connectivity ; Clear screen ; Affordable

Hard to carry dock ; Lacks grunt ; Flimsy dock

The Acer Iconia W700 comes the closest of all the tablets we've seen to being able to replicate the experience of a laptop, in a true tablet form.

Acer Iconia W700 review: Hands-on

The Acer Iconia W700 Windows 8 tablet is the brand's first tab to feature Microsoft's new OS. We went hands-on for a closer look...

As a skinny PC for web work and general typing, Windows 8 tablets with keyboards are quickly becoming what Google had hoped Chrome Books would become.

A hybrid Windows 8 tablet that throws a desktop dock and Bluetooth keyboard into the fray

Strong 11.6-inch Full HD display ; Well-made tablet ; Full Windows 8 OS

Cheap, plastic dock ; Heavy ; Uncomfortably large

It's comfortably the Acer Iconia W700's best feature.

Acer Iconia W700 review

The Acer Iconia W700 is heftier than a lot slates on the market, but it packs in standard laptop components to deliver some pleasing power for general use. The bundled dock and wireless keyboard allows you to use it as a standard PC at your desk and...

Bright and bold Full HD screen ; Handy dock and wireless keyboard ; Enough power for everyday computing

Older-generation processor ; Very cheap-feeling dock ; No expandable storage on tablet ; Chunky and heavy

The Iconia W700 might be a lot chunkier than slates like the Asus VivoTab Smart, but it offers plenty of stuff to make up for it. Its Full HD screen is great for photos and movies and its Intel Core i3 processor gives enough juice for all everyday tasks.

A great Windows 8 tablet, but the cradle and keyboard could be better

Acer W700 review

The Acer W700 suggests that Windows 8 has a bright future as a tablet OS. Read our Acer W700 Windows 8 tablet review to find out why.

Windows 8 has been slammed, but not all of the criticisms are fair, nor do they necessarily apply to the tablet side of Microsoft's OS. As the Acer W700 demonstrates, Windows 8 offers a winning tablet experience, and its productivity features show...

Acer W700 hands-on: Our first serious quality time with a Windows 8 tablet

Bad news for cynical tech bloggers, grenade-lobbing Internet trolls, and everyone else who's been attacking Windows 8 for the sheer thrill of sport: I've been using a Windows 8 tablet for over a week now, and the experience has been a revelation.

Review: Acer Iconia W700

One of the only Core i5 slate-style Windows 8 systems we've seen, the Acer Iconia W700 asks few compromises for full-time use, but the design isn't for everyone.

High-resolution screen; excellent battery life; works as a tablet or small desktop PC

Limited viewing angles when docked to stand; external mouse or touchpad needed for Windows navigation

There has been no shortage of opinions about the Acer Iconia W700around the CNET office. Some disliked its retro-looking docking stand, and are dubious about the efficacy of a standalone Windows 8 slate. Itook a warmer view, appreciating the...

Acer Iconia W700 - Review

Windows 8 has been one of the most intriguing OS launches that I have ever seen. Manufacturers have been given an OS that lends itself to any shape or form that they can think of. Off the back of that [...

Acer Iconia W700

The Acer Iconia W700 is one of a new breed of machines to take advantage of Windows 8' hybrid skills: at its core, it's an 11.6-inch, full HD touchscreen tablet with a zippy Intel Core processor, and either 64 or 128GB of speedy solid state storage. It...

We don’t object to the principle of a Windows tablet that turns into a desktop all in one - Microsoft’s own Surface slate pulls it off better than this, and for a better price too. But the Acer Iconia W700 is not the solution to anybody’s problems: a...
