Review: XMI X-Mini II Mini Speaker

Smartphone loudspeakers are a mixed bunch, many are good enough while some make us wonder why manufacturers bothered to fit them in the first place. If you like to use your phone as a boombox, external speakers are definitely the way to go. However,...

X-mini II speaker review

Small speakers, big sound with X-mini II diminutive speakers.

Small, lightweight, decent quality sound that doesn't underwhelm, around 11 hours of continuous playback, inexpensive, ideal stocking filler, cute

Best bought in pairs, unlikely to replace dedicated iPod speaker dock, novelty looks and size may deter some

The X-mini II speakers are respectable speakers for the modest size and price, even more so when you consider they can be found online for little more than pocket money. Cheap but not cheap sounding, these quality sounding speakers should have more...

XM-I X-mini II travel speaker

Small, cheap and pretty decent sounding travel speaker that ticks all the right boxes for anyone travelling light.

As an affordable and pocketable speaker the Mini II is almost impossible to find serious fault with. The sound may not be comparable to proper desktop speakers but it beats the daylights out of any of the built-in speakers you will find in a laptop or...

Review: XMI X-Mini II portable speakers

The perfect travel speakers should be as small and bulk free as possible, but should also not compromise on the sound quality. All too often they fall down on one of these elements: to get beyond a tinny, bass-less sound you usually need something...

The X-Mini II speakers feature an internal battery that recharges via a miniUSB connection, and a handy cable is provided that will connect one of the models to an audio device (or another speaker) and a USB port at the same time.

X-mini II Capsule Speakers

They're not actually "unbelievably loud", but the X-mini speakers do pack some audio punch in a tiny frame.

Decent sound quality ; Solidly built ; Supports daisy chaining multiple units

Fixed audio cable ; Not quite as loud as the packaging might have you believe

The X-mini IIs don't live up to the "unbelievably loud" hype, but beyond that they're fairly priced for portable speakers, somewhat unique looking and offer up decent but not spectacular audio quality.

X-mini II Capsule and MAX II Capsule Speaker Review

In my X-mini KAI Capsule Speaker review I mentioned two things that I considered might be worth pointing out. The first was the price. When I reviewed the KAI I showed it around to a lot of my mates. The universal opinion was ” Oooh I love the size!...

Small and portable ; Fantastic sound for their size ; Great battery life ; Easy operation ; Buddyjack function adds volume + fullness to sound ; Good price point (compared with KAI)

Exposed drivers ; Cable on Max II a bit messy

Xmi Pte Ltd X-Mini II Capsule Speaker

The original capsule speaker” that outperforms the competition in the same tiny form factor.

Rich sound for tiny speaker; deep bass with high clarity; better than some competitors

Fairly expensive for such a small speaker

X-mini II capsule speaker

I was sceptical of the X-mini II at first. I didn't expect the tiny speaker to sound any better than my MacBook Pro speakers, and probably not all that much better than those in my iPad or iPhone. I was only partially right, so if you're looking for...

Small; portable; good sound for the size; low price

Simply holding the X-mini can alleviate some of the noise that occurs at high volumes. The vibrations of the music cause it to move around a bit when cranked, and this buzz against a desk or table is partly to blame. But you might get sick of the...

For fifty bucks, the X-mini II is a great buy for anyone wanting portable sound outside of their headphones. You won’t be blown away by the quality, but you’ll almost definitely be surprised by it. Especially if you pop it open to extend the bass.

X marks the spot with the Mini Capsule Mark II - great sound from a small device

The little R2D2 from Speaker Realm certainly packs a punch - and very cheap too.
